The longitudinal-ventral owl (scientific name Athene noctua) has a body length of 23 cm and no ear feather clusters. The top of the head is flat, the eyes are bright yellow and long, and they are not moving. The upperparts are brown with white longitudinal stripes and spots. The underparts are white with brown spots and longitudinal stripes. The iris is bright yellow, the corners of the mouth are yellow, the feet are white, the indumentum is feathered, and the claws are black brown. It inhabits the edges of low hills and forests, but also in the jungle near farmland and villages. Feeds on insects and rodents. Distributed in Eurasia and northeast Africa, it is a resident bird in the Liaoyang area, and it is more common in urban areas, which is a national second-level key protected animal.
