On April 13, when the police of Xinhai Town Police Station were patrolling, they found an injured owl in the green belt of the Red Star Neighborhood Committee of Xinhai Town and sent it to the Xinhai Town Agricultural Technology Center. The staff of the Agricultural Technology Center contacted the reporter of the Rong Media Center in Chongming District to send him to the wildlife shelter and rescue point in Dongping Forest Park.
According to expert identification, this owl is a national second-class protected animal longitudinal-bellied owl (xiāo), which was recorded for the first time in Shanghai, increasing the record of birds in Shanghai to 507 species.
After careful inspection by the staff of the shelter and rescue point, it was found that the right wing of the longitudinal-striped owl was injured and could not fly, so the shelter and rescue was carried out. After the longitudinal abdomen owl heals, it is released back to nature in time.

Athene noctua is a species of bird in the genus Owls in the family Owls. National Level II Key Protected Animals. It inhabits low hills, forest edge shrublands and plains of forest, but also in farmland, deserts and jungles near villages. It is widespread in most parts of northern and western China, feeding on insects and rodents.
