One

In May 1933, when the Red 25th Army besieged Qiliping in Huang'an County (now Qiliping in Hong'an County), due to insufficient troops and difficult supplies, it suffered heavy losses, which directly led to the reduction of the Red 25th Army by more than half.

Cao Ganxian, who was pregnant, delivered the grain begged along the road to her husband of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, and then hurried away. And this trip, she just wanted to tell her husband that she was four months pregnant, and she didn't think that this ordinary goodbye would become a farewell for the husband and wife. A few days later, the sheep herding children found Cao Ganxian lying on the road on the Changchong Ganzha Gang, only to see that she was dressed like a ragged silk, her face was blue, and she still had a half-cut uncarved ear of wheat in her mouth, but she was unconscious. She, along with the little life in her belly that had not yet had time to be born, quietly left. She sent the begging grain to the army, but she starved to death.

Cao Ganxian's husband was wu huanxian, the political commissar of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, at this time, and when Wu Huanxian heard the bad news and rushed to the place where his wife died, he was very sad, looking at his wife who supported his revolution without complaint or regret and the children who were still born, so he was separated from his yin and yang, and Wu Huanxian, as a husband, cried loudly.

The starvation of his wife was not the end of Wu Huanxian's death, and in November of the same year, Wu Huanxian's mother, Chen Shi, refused to submit to the enemy's policy of clearing the countryside and hid alone in the wall of her grocery store. As the "mother of the commander", Chen Shi was naturally the enemy's key target of search, but all day long he was frightened and did not see the light of day, and the problem of food and clothing was also unfinished, and this great mother survived a long winter in the wall, and was actually trapped alive inside.

Xu Haidong's lifelong pain, Wu Huan fell on the eve of the meeting, Han Xianchu: It is not good to live to this day

In Wu Huanxian's heart, his enthusiasm for the revolution and his belief in communism have surpassed everything, and even if the enemy is a hundred times stronger, he will not shake the will of the revolution to the end, and he will not hesitate to fight the enemy to the end.

The successive deaths of the great wife and the great mother are also the eternal pain in Wu Huanxian's heart, but they are only two of Wu Huanxian's lost relatives, because as early as 1927, Wu Huanxian's family of six died at the hands of cruel reactionaries.

In the autumn of 1926, when the peasant revolutionary movement was booming, Wu Huanxian, who came from a landlord family, had already accepted progressive ideas, and he did not want to accept family property, but wanted to further propagate revolutionary ideas. Therefore, he invited all the tenants and debtors of his family to his home, and Comrade Wu Huanxian, on the one hand, preached the revolutionary principles to them, and on the other hand, burned all the lease deeds and debt IOUs in front of them. Comrade Wu Huanxian's move can be described as earth-shattering and ghostly; after all, this was something that had never happened before, and it caused a great sensation in the local area and also promoted the rapid development of the peasant revolutionary movement in the revolutionary base areas of Eyu and Anhui.

It was only Wu Huanxian's actions that completely offended the local landlords and gentry, causing them to have a strong hatred, so they threatened to "step on the Arrow Field River, wash the four corners of caomen in blood, and exterminate Wu Huanxian's entire family."

When it came to doing so, these landlords and gentry were not soft-hearted, and they went so far as to collude with the bandits and brutally shoot and kill Wu Huanxian's eldest brother Wu Shangxian and second brother Wu Fengxian, and then hacked to death Wu Huanxian's father Wu Weidi and younger brother Wu Jixian. Even so, they were not good at giving up, forcing Wu Huanxian's sister-in-law to be cornered, holding a child who was less than half a year old and breastfeeding, and could only hide in the pond, and eventually both mother and son were drowned. As a result, all six members of Wu Huanxian's family were killed, but Wu Huanxian, his wife and mother were out of town to avoid this catastrophe.

On March 18, 1927, the Hankou Republic of China Daily published a message: "Wu Huanxian's family of six people, large and small, was killed..."

Before the Long March, as a staunch proletarian revolutionary, All the relatives of Wu Huanxian's family were sacrificed.

Two

Wu Huanxian was born in 1907 in 1907 in Caomen, Four Corners, Jianchanghe Township, Xinxian County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, which borders Hubei and is next to Tanshugang in Hong'an County, Hubei Province. Before liberation, this belonged to Hubei Province, which was also an important battlefield of the "Jute Uprising", and after liberation, it was divided into New County, Henan Province, and Xinxian county, as a famous general county in Henan Province, emerged countless revolutionaries, among which the more famous ones were Wu Huanxian, Xu Shiyou, Li Desheng, Zheng Weishan, and so on!

Wu Huanxian entered the Macheng Sericulture School at the age of sixteen, during which time he joined the Socialist Youth League, and then joined the Communist Party of China in 1926. Wu Huanxian accepted progressive ideas in his early years, gave up superior conditions, resolutely threw himself into the peasant movement, and later participated in and led the famous jute uprising, and continued the armed struggle after his defeat. As an important leader of the revolutionary base area at this time, Wu Huanxian was also one of the founders of the Eyu-Anhui Revolutionary Base Area and the Red Fourth Front Army and the Red Twenty-fifth Army.

Wu Huanxian was an extremely rare military and political talent in the Red Army, he died only 28 years old, but he has always influenced his comrades and subordinates, like the founding general Xu Haidong who has never forgotten Wu Huanxian in his life. General Xu Haidong was born in Dawu County, Hubei Province, and Henan Xinxian is also a border, so the two can also be regarded as fellow villagers, in the most difficult moment of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, Xu Haidong as the commander, Wu Huan as the political commissar, the two together led the Red Twenty-Fifth Army to create a new situation, after the Long March arrived in Shaanxi, but Wu Huanxian died unexpectedly when he was about to reach his destination, which always made people feel the tragic grandeur of "dying before the master, making the hero cry", and Xu Haidong also lived a lifetime of grief because of the loss of this good partner, good comrade-in-arms, good brother. Even when he was recuperating after liberation, he always missed his good comrade-in-arms Wu Huanxian, who had long since passed away.

The revolutionary friendship between Wu Huanxian and Xu Haidong was built in the process of the birth and growth of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, and in fact Wu Huanxian was the soul of the Red Twenty-Fifth Army, because from the birth of the Red Twenty-fifth Army to the Long March, several times against encirclement and suppression, and several times through reorganization, Wu Huanxian not only stabilized the military spirit of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, but also the most important person who the Red Twenty-fifth Army was able to maintain combat effectiveness and eventually reach Shaanxi.

In 1931, the Red Twenty-fifth Army was born in Jinzhai, Anhui, and by the beginning of 1932, the revolutionary regime and the red army forces in the Eyu-Anhui Border Region had further developed. Only at this time, Zhang Guotao vigorously pursued the wrong line, and in the face of the enemy's crazy encirclement and suppression, he actually led the main force of the Red Army across the Pinghan Road to the west in October 1932. However, the enemy did not reduce the suppression of troops in the base areas, but concentrated the strength of fifteen divisions to continuously clear and suppress the revolutionary base areas in Eyu and Anhui. This also led to extremely heavy sacrifices for the revolution by the ordinary people in the revolutionary base areas of Eyu and Anhui. It can be said that at that time, almost all villages were washed in blood, houses were turned into ruins in the firelight, and hundreds of old and weak women and children were shot en masse.

Of course, in the land of the Eyu-Anhui Revolutionary Base Area, because the revolution was brutally killed by the reactionaries and communists, it was not the first time that the tragic incident occurred, as early as 1927, after the failure of the jute uprising, the enemy frantically counterattacked, captured more than 300 people, and carried out collective execution in a rice field behind the Lenin Primary School in Jianchanghe Township. When I was young, I also read at Lenin Primary School, went to "Red Field" several times, and every time I saw the words on the monument, I was always touched by the spirit of fearless sacrifice of the older generation of revolutionaries who threw their heads and spilled their blood. Therefore, in the land of the Eyu-Anhui Revolutionary Base Area, countless people with lofty ideals have been born, all of whom have firm faith, regard death as a homecoming, and have never been afraid to sacrifice for the revolution and fight to the end.

Xu Haidong's lifelong pain, Wu Huan fell on the eve of the meeting, Han Xianchu: It is not good to live to this day

In 1933, in the face of the serious situation of repeated liquidation and suppression by the enemy, the Eyu-Anhui region urgently needed a unified leadership, and at a moment when people were scattered, Comrade Wu Huanxian, who was the commander of the guerrilla forces in northeast Hubei, bravely stood up. He understood that at this time it was necessary to unify the hearts and minds of the army, so he specially went to Shen Zemin, Zheng Weisan, secretary of the provincial party committee, and other comrades, and suggested that the scattered Red Army, guerrillas, and wounded should be quickly gathered together to reorganize the Red Twenty-fifth Army. The provincial party committee listened to Wu Huanxian's opinions and made a timely decision to form the Red Twenty-fifth Army, and then appointed Comrade Wu Huanxian as the commander, Wang Pingzhang as the political commissar, and Xu Haidong as the deputy commander and commander of the Seventy-fourth Division.

Subsequently, Comrade Wu Huanxian's leadership ability was quickly demonstrated, and he organized the military headquarters, two divisions, five regiments, and two special service battalions in a very short period of time. Not only that, Wu Huanxian quickly unified the ideas of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, united the broadest forces according to the situation at that time, and put an end to the chaotic situation. It was Wu Huanxian's outstanding leadership ability that gave the revolutionary struggle in the Eyu Border Region a clear direction. In order to further unify the thinking of the troops, he personally went to various divisions and regiments to speak to cadres and soldiers. He said:

The Eyu-Anhui base area was bought with the lives of the martyrs, and we must not throw it away, and the red flag of Dabie Mountain cannot be poured! If we fight, we will die, and we will certainly persist until we win!

The Red Twenty-fifth Army, which was formed under extremely unfavorable circumstances, fought three consecutive victorious battles under the command of Wu Huanxian and other comrades: at Guojiahezi, it annihilated all the enemy's 104th Brigade, captured more than 2,000 enemy soldiers, and captured more than 2,000 long and short guns; annihilated an entire regiment of the enemy at Panjiahezi; and then annihilated more than 300 enemy regiments at Yangsizhai.

The Commanders and Fighters of the Whole Army were extremely excited that they had such a commander with outstanding command ability. It was he who fought bravely and commanded Ruoding, so later many old comrades of the Red Twenty-fifth Army recalled: "If you follow Commissar Wu, you will be able to win the battle!"

Three

Wu Huanxian was capable, heroic and good at fighting, trusted comrades, and deeply loved by soldiers, but on August 21, 1935, when the Long March was about to end, Wu Huanxian was unfortunately shot and killed in the battle of Sipo Village in Jingchuan, Gansu, and the Red Twenty-fifth Army lost an extremely good general.

In 1935, the Red Twenty-fifth Army arrived in Jingchuan, Gansu, in order to further contain the enemy and listen to the northward movements of the main Red Army, the Red Twenty-fifth Army chose to cross the Jing River tributary in the south. At the time of heavy rain pouring down and the river soaring, when crossing the river encountered difficulties, the 208th Regiment of the enemy's 35th Division suddenly attacked, and at a critical moment, Wu Huanxian commanded the Red 25th Army to fight against the water. At this time, Wu Huan took the lead as a soldier, led more than a hundred people to insert more than a hundred people into the rear of the enemy, and violently counterattacked the enemy, and finally the Red Army won a great victory in this battle, but the joy of the soldiers' total victory was only because in this battle, Comrade Wu Huanxian, political commissar of the Red Twenty-fifth Army, was unfortunately shot and died heroically.

When Xu Haidong, the commander of the army who had crossed the river earlier, heard that the political commissar was seriously injured, he was shocked and quickly ran to the opposite bank, waiting for him to rush to find that Wu Huanxian had been killed. Xu Haidong cried loudly, and his grief overflowed into words, Xu Haidong often said that "heroes shed blood without tears", but when Wu Huanxian sacrificed, Xu Haidong could not control his emotions. Because he knew very well that what he had lost was not only a good political commissar, but also a good brother, and an extremely good Red Army general!

Even after liberation, Xu Haidong was awarded the title of "Great General", and he often thought of Wu Huanxian, the closest partner who had experienced the storm together. Just think, if Wu Huanxian had not sacrificed, then he would definitely have been awarded the rank of "Great General", and it is even possible that Xu Haidong's position as general would have been moved backwards.

Xu Haidong's lifelong pain, Wu Huan fell on the eve of the meeting, Han Xianchu: It is not good to live to this day

Wu Huanxian's death not only made his old partner regretful, but also made his former subordinate Han Xianchu remember him. General Han Xianchu has always regarded Wu Huanxian as the first mentor in his military career, and it is precisely because of such a leader and mentor as Wu Huanxian that Han Xianchu feels extremely lucky and proud in his heart.

And the person who han Xianchu thought the most in his life, that is, Wu Huanxian, once said:

"What is military and political integrity?" He (Wu Huanxian) is. He's handsome, all-rounder! If he had lived to this day, it would have been terrible! ”

General Han Xianchu was able to become an outstanding warrior later, and it was inseparable from Wu Huanxian's cultivation and influence on him. This was also an important reason why General Han Xianchu was extremely reluctant to him later, and when General Han Xianchu was sorting out the relics of the old military commander, he found a photo, so he took this photo of Wu Huanxian with him at all times, remembering the old military commander's high wind and bright festival, in order to encourage himself.

Wu Huanxian's heroic deeds have long been known in his hometown of Jianchanghe Township, Xinxian County, Henan Province, where the "Former Residence of Wu Huanxian" was built, and the "Huanxian Primary School" was also built, which is on a par with Lenin Primary School in the local area, just to commemorate this great Red Army general.

On September 14, 2009, Wu Huanxian was named one of the "100 Heroic And Exemplary Figures Who Made Outstanding Contributions to the Founding of New China".

The old revolutionary area of Xinxian is the cradle of the revolutionary base area in Eyuwan, and it is precisely because of the heroic dedication of Wu Huanxian and other martyrs that legends have been written from generation to generation!

Wu Huanxian led the masses to persist in the revolutionary struggle, and under difficult circumstances, he wrote a poem to encourage himself with firm revolutionary conviction, which seemed simple, but it was heroic enough, and also reflected the determination and firm revolutionary will of the older generation of revolutionaries to struggle in a difficult environment:

Deep in the mountains and dense forests is my house,

The beach slate is my bed,

Despite the ferocity of the enemy,

Resolute struggle without surrender.
