At the meeting, Robin Li said that China has the best soil to cultivate leading talents and strategic scientists, and stressed that in the next 5 years, Baidu will cultivate 5 million AI talents for the society and continue to contribute to the construction of national strategic scientific and technological strength.

In terms of industrial practice and technology landing, Robin Li took automatic driving as an example and proposed that Baidu and Tesla are both "engineering thinking".

Robin Li pointed out that the path chosen by Tesla is a gradient of the degree of automation, and the path chosen by Baidu is a gradient of the driving range of autonomous driving, starting from the full driverless driving of some roads, and gradually expanding the geographical scope, so as to move towards full automatic driving at the L5 level.

According to reports, Baidu has launched an autonomous driving travel service platform "Radish Run", which has been operating in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Cangzhou, Changsha and other places, with a total of more than 400,000 passengers.

It is worth mentioning that not long ago, Robin Li also published an article entitled "Riding a Smart Car, Taking the Smart Road".

Robin Li said in the article that an intelligent transportation system should be able to effectively solve the problem of congestion, and now the common "purchase restriction" and "restriction" policies in large cities are expected to be cancelled within 5-10 years.

He believes that intelligent transportation systems can greatly reduce the probability of traffic accidents, and about 94% of traffic accidents are caused by human factors, including crisis driving behaviors such as drunk driving.

At the same time, with the further maturity of unmanned driving, smart cars, smart roads, vehicle-road coordination, intelligent traffic management systems, etc., will reduce the probability of traffic accidents.
