The Nigerian Air Force celebrated its 59th anniversary on 6 May. For the first time, the Nigerian Air Force publicly demonstrated the Wing Loong-II Reconnaissance Integrated Armed UAV and the DA62 MPP Diamond Special Mission Electronic Reconnaissance Aircraft purchased from China. The DA62 is a 7-seat, twin-engine, all-composite turboprop aircraft originating in Austria, an Austrian diamond aircraft manufacturer that has been acquired by a Chinese company. The Nigerian Air Force uses this DA62 MPP "Diamond" special mission electronic reconnaissance aircraft to guide the strike position in advance for the Wing Loong-II reconnaissance integrated armed UAV, JF-17 Thunder Dragon fighter, and J-7 fighter, and conduct ultra-low altitude reconnaissance, which can effectively detect Nigerian militants hiding in the woods at night.
