In 1985, Alimuradov, a Soviet pilot, chose to hijack planes and seek refuge in China because of his personal experience.
His actions had serious consequences, and although he repeatedly stressed that he was only trying to express his inner dissatisfaction, he was sentenced to eight years in prison.
During his sentence, he suffered mental hardships, but he did not give up his pursuit of freedom and justice.
At the end of 1991, Alimuradov was released and returned to the free world.
However, he found that his country no longer existed. In this strange land, Alimuradov felt lonely and helpless.
Eventually, he decided to leave China and start a new life in Azerbaijan.
There, he became an Azerbaijani, but his heart still misses the grass and trees of his homeland.
