The Hong Kong Palace Museum was officially opened to the public on July 2 last year, and in the six months since its opening, the number of visitors has reached 730,000 as of yesterday (18th). In order to cater to the Chinese New Year, the Hong Kong Palace Museum has specially selected some exhibits related to the Chinese New Year, so that the public can appreciate the treasures of the festival and understand the cultural significance behind the festival. Shenzhen Satellite TV's reporter in Hong Kong visited the museum in advance today (19th) and gave you some interesting exhibits in advance.

■ The Forbidden City is full of New Year atmosphere

In the New Year, we often post spring couplings and hang blessing characters to increase the sense of joyful atmosphere. In fact, this sense of creating a festive atmosphere already existed during the Qing Dynasty. During the festival, the Forbidden City will be decorated with a variety of auspicious and interesting furnishings.

In the common decoration of the Spring Festival, the vase is harmonious and peaceful, and the plum blossoms in the bottle in response to the solar term symbolize the noble character; Persimmon, on the other hand, means "persimmon ruyi".

■ How can Bauhinia City celebrate the Spring Festival without gourds

The Qianlong Emperor was particularly fond of large gourds, and "Daji" gourds could be seen everywhere.

Gourd has the auspicious meaning of longevity, many children and many blessings. Gourd-shaped ornaments with the word "Daji" can be seen in the life, ceremonial and religious spaces of Bauhinia City, and are often used to decorate walls, lintels, screens, etc. In the eleventh year of Qianlong (1746), he ordered the production of sixty-two pieces of auspicious gourds to celebrate the Spring Festival.

■ Bauhinia City is "steaming" hot pot walking

Do you like hot pot? Coincidentally, so is the Qianlong Emperor!

Northern China has a cold winter climate, and hot pot is an indispensable winter dish in the Qing Dynasty. In the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong (1789), the Qianlong Emperor ate more than two hundred hot pots! This hot pot is made of copper, which has good thermal conductivity and is decorated with cloisonné enamel. It seems that the Qianlong Emperor's love of "pompous style" is worthy of the name.

More exciting, just wait for everyone to experience it on site.
