After being sanctioned by economic sanctions for colluding with the Taiwan authorities, Lithuania bowed to China: it hoped to resume trade with China

In addition to the United States and Britain, Lithuania is also one of the countries that frequently provoke China, starting last year, because the cubic government ignored China's warning and allowed the Taiwan authorities to set up a so-called "Taiwan representative office", which led to China downgrading the diplomatic relations between the neutral two countries to the level of chargé d'affaires, and implemented a series of sanctions, resulting in serious setbacks in the cubic economy.

According to reports, Minister of Economy Almonette, who recently threatened to "not be afraid of Chinese sanctions", publicly admitted that it is impossible for Lifang to "completely exclude China", and also expressed the hope of normalizing economic and trade activities with China.

According to statistics, only from January to September this year, Cufang's exports to China fell by 67% year-on-year, and commodity exports fell by 81.5%, only 25.7 million euros this year, and Lithuania simply could not find enough alternative export markets for a while.

As a country with a population of just over 2 million, Lithuania insists on following in the footsteps of the United States and playing the role of a "jumping clown" on Taiwan-related issues, which is destined to pay a price.

What's more, cargo throughput at Cubic's largest port plummeted as a result. According to media reports, Lithuania suffered economic losses as a result of the wrong policy adopted by the Lithuanian government on the Taiwan issue. In 2022, the cargo throughput of the Port of Klaipeda, the largest port in Lithuania, will be reduced by 40%.

The cubic government has threatened that trade with China accounts for only 1% of its entire trade volume, which has little impact. So how is it now? Now China has a new ability to impose extraterritorial sanctions, which is a powerful deterrent, and with such "negative teaching materials" as Lithuania, some restless small and medium-sized countries are much more honest.

Why bother today? Although the cube released a positive signal to China, it did not show any sincerity, Lithuania's exports to other Indo-Pacific countries to a certain extent help to make up for the loss of trade with China, but in the long run, China's sanctions against Lithuania still have a profound impact.

And the cubic side has always been dead, just in August this year, since Pelosi's escape, the Lithuanian Minister of Transport immediately led a delegation to Taiwan, seriously trampling on the "one-China principle", in response to the malicious provocation of the cubic side, China decided to take sanctions against its individuals, while suspending any form of exchanges between China and the Ministry of Transport, and stopping cooperation between neutral countries in international transportation.

This is undoubtedly another powerful counterattack against Lithuania, which means that the opportunity for the cubic government to earn employment through the China-Europe Express has nothing to do with Lithuania; China is not soft on any external interference forces that dare to provoke China's sovereignty, and Lithuania, as a country with "previous convictions", once again touches China's core interests and is expected to be sanctioned by China again.

At that time, the Lifang government was also dissatisfied with China's sanctions and its dissatisfaction, and protested to China, demanding the immediate lifting of relevant sanctions, and the Lifang Foreign Ministry claimed that "China's sanctions are unreasonable, not only violate the law but also violate the sovereignty of Lifang", which is a typical thief shouting to catch thieves. We spoke first from the beginning, and now sanctions are the price of their insistence.

Now Lithuania is seeing that the European "leader" Germany and France have shown goodwill to China, and at the same time in the face of the dilemma of the European economic downturn, it has to soften to China, and the United States is also "seeing death and not saving", leaving behind the commitment to the opposite side, before the cubic side also tried to develop the "island market", but compared with the mainland market, it is completely incomparable. Today's Lithuania, while hurting China, wants to profit from China, is this approach really not worried about its international credibility?
