Li Weili:
In the snow and ice, perseverance and love are transmitted
Jumping, spinning, landing, sliding...... On the ski slopes, these cool movements look very handsome. However, in order for everyone to enjoy the charm of snow and ice, ski instructors work continuously for more than three or four hours in a low temperature of about -5°C every day.
Li Weili, 23 years old this year, is a ski instructor at the Guangzhou Hot Snow Miracle Ski Training Center, and he ignites the "cold ice" with full "enthusiasm" and arouses more tourists' yearning and love for ice and snow sports. In the 2022 Guangdong Sports Industry Vocational Skills Competition, he won the first prize in the individual in the ski social sports instructor competition, the first place in the free skating event, and the eighth place in the skiing technology event.
In 2021, Li Weili graduated from Guangdong Sports Vocational and Technical College, and his "relationship" with ice and snow was due to an "accident". "I used to be a sailor. When I was in school, I came to Guangzhou for an internship through an opportunity for school-enterprise cooperation, and then I fell in love with skiing. The process of learning to ski and becoming a ski instructor took about four months, and we trained for five or six hours a day, after which we went to get a certificate. Talking about this experience, Li Weili's face was full of excitement.
Since then, Li Weili has continuously improved his professional level and accumulated teaching experience. He has obtained the National Vocational Qualification in the Sports Industry Social Sports Instructor (Skiing) Elementary/Level 5, the GISS Fall in Love Ski Teacher Level, and is recognized as the qualification to teach the GISS Ski Course, and the Canadian CSIA Ski Level 2 Certification.
"I think skiing is a very challenging sport, and every time you try a move or a way of skiing, you have to go through repeated failures and training before you can complete it, which is quite rewarding. Li Weili knows that the charm of skiing also lies in allowing more people to join in and enjoy the joy of skiing.
Over the past four years, Li Weili has witnessed the rapid development of the ice and snow industry with his dedication and labor. Relevant data shows that since its opening, Guangzhou Hot Snow Miracle has exceeded one million tourists in 15 months, and as of June 2023, the passenger flow has exceeded 3 million. "Skiing has become the choice of more and more young people, and the number of visitors to ski resorts has grown rapidly, especially during the holidays in Hong Kong, many Hong Kong people come to learn to ski. Li Weili introduced.
Working for a long time in the low temperature below zero degrees Celsius, the instructors all dressed like rice dumplings, and even so, people were often frozen after a few classes. Li Weili told reporters, "A class is two hours, and I am in the snow resort for about 3-4 hours a day on average, and about 8-9 hours at the most." We always have some chocolate chip cookies in our pockets to replenish our calories. ”
"Children need to be guided by easy-to-understand language, gestures, and encouragement. Middle-aged and elderly people need to pay attention to rest, and be cautious and patient during skiing. In his work, Li Weili actively communicates with students and formulates personalized learning plans according to different situations. "I taught a 76-year-old skier, and I took him to get used to the feeling of skiing in a safe and slow way, and then he was able to ski on the slopes after passing seven lessons in a month, which was quite rewarding. Li Weili said happily.
Looking at the snowflakes flying in front of him, Li Weili had a new wish: "The boom of ice and snow sports makes us full of enthusiasm. I felt the enthusiasm of southerners for skiing, and I hope that through my own efforts and some events, more people will fall in love with skiing. ”
