The annual "International Museum Day" is approaching, and Sanshui District will launch the 2024 "5.18 International Museum Day" activity and "Growing Under the Red Flag - New Chinese Children's Literature and Art Image Exhibition" at 10:30 a.m. on May 18 (Saturday) at the Sanshui District Museum, further narrowing the distance between the museum and the masses.
As a comprehensive museum integrating collection, protection, research, display and academic exchanges, Sanshui District Museum is an important place to display the history and culture of Sanshui, and holds various cultural activities and art exhibitions every year, which is one of the important positions of public cultural services in Sanshui District. In addition, it is also a patriotic education base in Foshan City and a demonstration base for science popularization in Foshan City.
It is reported that the "Growing Under the Red Flag - New China Children's Literature and Art Image Exhibition" is divided into five parts, focusing on the selection of 338 literary works with children as the protagonists in the period from the founding of New China to the period of reform and opening up, including literature, painting, music, film and other literary and artistic forms, and reproduce many classic children's literature and art images. These classic children's images have gradually entered the hearts of modern and contemporary children, nourished their spiritual world, and accompanied the growth of generations of children, and these works are still of great significance for the healthy growth of children in the new era. The exhibition will be on view until July 21.
Starting from May, the Sanshui District Museum will link up with Lubao Town Experimental Primary School, Southwest Street No. 12 Primary School and other schools to start the "Cultural and Museum Knowledge Popularization" activity, and send theme lectures such as "Museum Treasure Exploration" and "Life of the Ancients" and "Sanshui Basin Paleontological Fossil Exhibition" (mobile exhibition) to the campus.
At the same time, the museum also organizes young students, their parents and teachers to visit and study the museum, and popularizes the knowledge of the museum to the young people through the form of the second class, enriches the spiritual and cultural life of students on campus, further promotes the excellent traditional culture, and actively plays the social education function of the museum.
