The Eighteen Arhats of Chile, today introduces the centuries of The Santa Carolina (Herencia).
01
Winery history
Château San Carlo was founded in 1875 by Luis Pereira. Luis Pereira found that Chile's soil and climate were perfect for cultivating vines, so he invited the French winemaker Germain Bachelet to chile with the vines of Bordeaux, France, to open a garden.
In 2015, on the occasion of its 140th anniversary, Château San Carlo was named "Best New World Winery of 2015" by Wine Enthusiast magazine.
In 2021, Wine Intelligence, a well-known wine research institute in the United Kingdom, released the "2021 Global Wine Brand Influence Index", and San Carlo ranked 9th among the "Global Influential Wine Brands"! This is the fourth year that Wine Intelligence has published the list, and San Carlo has been on the list for the third consecutive year, rising from 15th to 9th.

03
Century heritage
The Winery San Carlo has a wide range of wines, among which the medieval heritage Santa Carolina Herencia Carmenere is the representative of the Chilean Jamena.
Its wine grapes, from the vineyards of Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley and Los Lingues in Korchagua, aim to produce innovative and elegant Carmena wines that express a distinctive personality.
The 2009 vintage of the century was named "Top 10 Global Wines of the Year" by Forbes magazine and "The Best Carmena in Chile" by Wine Lovers. Complex, intense, plump and smooth, it's rich and creamy, with red berries and hints of tobacco, leather and vanilla for a long-lasting finish.
