#World War II# The old Yugoslav movie "The Bridge" can be called a classic that cannot be erased in the hearts of a generation, in the following set of photos, have you found anything special about the military hat of SS Colonel Hoffmann?
Careful viewers will find that Hoffman's military hat is not the regular uniform of the SS officers, but the "simple version" of the military hat with the silver and white wire belt removed.
The German standard officer hat is indeed very windy to wear, but this thing has a flaw, that is, it is not very convenient to fight, and the large cap embedded in the wire ring will roll off the head when it is bumped, which is really not suitable for the battlefield crawling scene. In the early days of World War II, the m43 mountain hat style cap had not yet been equipped with troops, and the only combat hat that officers could choose was the same ship-shaped hat as the soldier.
Some officers may not be satisfied with the style of the ship-shaped hat, or perhaps they think that only the big cap can reflect the authority of the field command, and they stubbornly insist on putting a big cap on their heads at all times, but how to solve the hard wound that the big cap is not suitable for battlefield use? So some people have a clever move, simply remove the big cap in the wire ring and wind belt these flashy burdens, the hard top of the big cap into a simplified version of the big cap soft cap.
This innovation, which not only facilitates combat operations, but also facilitates the wearing of radio headsets on military hats by armored commanders, is deeply loved by frontline officers. As a result, the German equipment department also took advantage of the situation and specially introduced this officer soft hat to add a new element to the "mix-and-match" wind of the German army in World War II (Figure 67).
Hoffman's SD armband on his left sleeve shows that he was an SS intelligence system officer from the Imperial Security Directorate, and the Cross of the Sword and Sword under his pocket showed that his work was very effective. But the focus is on the Iron Cross of the First Class in the middle of his pocket, indicating that he had personally been on combat missions on the front lines and had received military merits, which explained why he was a SS captain at the beginning of the war and was promoted to colonel in just a few years. As an officer with outstanding ability and personal presence on the front line, it makes sense that he wore an officer's soft combat hat.
Another medal under Hoffman's pocket is the Stormtrooper Physical Training Badge, a few simple props indicate the experience of this character, indicating that the props group is still more attentive, but the same crew, why let the owl wear the major collar badge but carry the captain's epaulettes? There is also a bug in the skull badge on his ship-shaped hat, and it is reasonable to say that such a low-level error should not occur (Figure 8).
