The Bronze Owl is the earliest bird-shaped bronze wine vessel found in the mainland so far. It is based on an owl as a whole, and its shape is very vivid and ingenious. The inscription on the inner wall below the mouth of the owl has the word "good woman", which shows that the owl is cast for the good woman, so it is named "good bronze owl". She was the wife of Wu Ding, the late monarch of the Shang Dynasty, who was in charge of sacrificial activities, participated in state discussions, and led troops to conquer surrounding countries, and was the first female military strategist and politician in Chinese history with written records. The Wuding Dynasty reversed the decline of the Shang Dynasty with its martial arts, and was known as "Wuding Zhongxing" in history. During this period, she played an outstanding political and military talent, and is now called "China's first female general" by scholars.
