What are the home vegetable and vanilla varieties in Europe?
After making the special topic of "Urban Vegetable Growing Tide" (China Flower and Horticulture Magazine, No. 7, 2022), I thought of looking at the developed areas of home gardening in Europe, what vegetables and what herbs will they grow? So, I looked at the new varieties and new products of various companies during this year's European Flower Variety Exhibition, and found that there are still many such varieties, especially tomatoes, lavender, and sage, but the enterprises that produce and sell these varieties are not familiar with much, probably because they are mainly aimed at local families and will not have an international development strategy like commercial varieties companies. Today, I will pick out the products of several enterprises and take a look at the scenery of other people's homes.
1. ABZ Seed Company
Strawberry Summer Breeze series 'Cherry Blossom Cherry Blossom' is a new decoy of the series with beautiful pink flowers and juicy fruit. This unique half-petaled flower can be maintained for a long time, bringing rich colors to the whole plant.

The brand includes varieties from major well-known breeding companies, aiming to create a fresh and healthy family vegetable garden for customers.

13. VOLTZ Company
Tomato Maestria F1, this exuberant variety has all the advantages of growing in the garden, short nodes, leaves covering the fruit, strong tolerance to late blight and other common diseases, high yield, and taste unanimously recognized by gourmets. These excellent qualities make it one of the aces of the company's brand in Europe.
Basil 'LOKI', compact, well-branched, very homogeneous, is the perfect potted flower variety. It performs well in cold environments and has a good tolerance to downy mildew, which is relatively rare in basil.
Tomato 'Ruby Ruby Royalious' F1, cherry-shaped ruby F1 tomato achieves a delicious and colorful balance. An ear produces 15 to 25 beautiful fruits that are less sensitive to cracking. This variety is resistant to late blight and has a long production period.
14. Volmary Corporation
Leaf Basil 'Copa' series Red-Green Shades, is a long-lived basil with 4 different varieties with attractive leaf colors suitable for potted production. Genovese Basil 'BARISTO' is shorter and fatter, making it suitable for fresh food.
The new German nano fertilizer can promote the photosynthesis of cut flowers and increase the yield by 30%.
A few years ago, the German fertilizer manufacturer B+H Solutions launched "Nano Fertilizers". These fertilizers contain trace amounts of silver, iron, calcium and copper, and the effects of these elements are manifested in photosynthesis. This fertilizer was first used effectively in olives and avocados, then applied in greenhouse vegetables and is now proven in cut flower cultivation in Dutch greenhouses.
The trial in the Netherlands was aided by the collaboration of Robert Zuyderwijk, representative of B+H Solutions in the Netherlands, and Erwin Gräfe of Sendot. The photosynthetic meter developed by Sendot can be used to measure the sugars produced by plant photosynthesis.
In the Schouten Opti-Fleurs greenhouse in the Netherlands, the yield of gerbera used in the experiment increased by 30 percent due to the addition of nanofertilizers. There is evidence that the photosynthetic efficiency of plants increases significantly shortly after the first application. Also in the cultivation of roses in the greenhouses of De Ruiter Innovations, the role of fertilizer is also reflected, and depending on the rose variety, the branches are increased by 10 to 30%. Since nanofertilizers primarily stimulate photosynthesis, growers can also reduce lighting. Studies last winter showed that reaching the same yield could save up to 25 percent of energy.
