The lemur (scientific name: Suricata suricatta), with a head and tail length of 42–60 cm, is a small mammal. It is found mainly in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa, including Angola, Namibia and Botswana.
Lemurs feed primarily on insects, but they also eat lizards, snakes, spiders, plants, eggs and small mammals.
