Fury will become the world boxer again if he retires

If Tyson Fury retires and abandons his WBC Boxing Champion Gold Belt, former boxer Diontay Wilder could be ordered to face the winner of Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker in a bid for the vacant WBC heavyweight world title.

Fury insisted he would withdraw from boxing after a win over Dean White on Saturday night. The WBC heavyweight world champion managed to defend his title and knocked out his British rival and insisted on repeating his pre-match retirement claims after the victory.

Wilder might have a chance to get his old gold belt back. But few people really believe that we will never see Fury continue in the boxing ring anymore, and he has not left his WBC gold belt at the moment. However, it would be interesting if he proved everyone wrong, and did so, to see who could seize the vacant gold belt.

As it stands, former WBC champion Wilder remains number one in the WBC rankings, even though he lost to Fury. That puts him in a leadership position, but his hypothetical opponent gives up, and Fury may decide in the coming months.

Currently, Joe Joyce is ranked second by the WBC and Third by Joseph Parker. The two finalized their contracts for a game at Wembley on 2 July.
