The image of the mother in the newly launched Korean picture book "My Mother" has broken the almost perfect mother image in traditional works. In May 2022, on the occasion of Mother's Day, Relay Press published Chinese Simplified edition of the book.

In 2022, the Korea Daily network announced the winners of the Korea Publishing Culture Award, the highest award of Korean publishing, and a new writer Kwon Ting-hyun's picture book "My Mother" won the award, the reason for the award was: "In this book, the author creatively reshaped the 'motherhood', the real picture in the book rejects the myth of motherhood, and this book can be regarded as the awakening of contemporary motherhood." At the award ceremony, author Kwon Ting-hyun said: "I hope to let more people around the world realize that mother is also a living being, a human being like us." ”
"My Mother" studies and records the mother from the perspective of the child, focusing on the real state of the mother taking care of the baby - because of the birth, so the figure is out of shape; because of the night feeding, so sleepy during the day; because of the need to take care of the baby all the time, so their own life has become embarrassing... In the book, Kwon Ting-hyun portrays an embarrassed, lazy, and even a little embarrassed mother, and the author uses real life scenes to pull all readers back to reality, so that everyone realizes that the new life form of mother is also a living ordinary person.
The author gave birth to a baby in 2014, drew a line draft in 2017, officially published it in South Korea in 2021, and launched the Chinese Simplified edition of the book in May 2022, on the occasion of Mother's Day. According to Quan Tingwei, because mothers are a relatively private topic and books are a more open space, there has been no reason to present such a private topic to the book. And looking back on the fragile time in the past, it is not very comfortable, so it is always repeated between looking at it and giving up, and I am also afraid that after disclosing my motherhood, being an author will have many limitations. But in the end, the psychology of "should say it" overcame the idea of "not worth saying", so "My Mom" was released.
Mother, is accompanied by the birth of the child, born together with the newborn group, she may live a little depressed, but it is this kind of resignation, the achievement of the mother's greatness. "My Mother" is a book that records the mother from the child's perspective and tone, which is extremely real, so this book is also a "mother's picture book", which is presented under the verification of time, depicting beauty in an imperfect way, praising the greatness of maternal love.
