In my lifetime, I am often called "nerd" by some people, but I have a favorite holiday. As I get older, I don't "stay" so much, but I still remember: World Book Day.
On 15 November 1995, UNESCO designated 23 April as World Book Day.
Books came to the world about the birth of human civilization, although the form is very different, but it is the carrier of the inheritance of various civilizations, then reading has become an indispensable part of the development and progress of civilization. Therefore, it is long overdue for a reading festival, and now it is finally there, which is a fortunate thing.
Regarding reading, once upon a time there was a vulgar saying among farmers: "It is better to feed a pig if you raise a child without reading." This roughly represents the common aspiration of ordinary people during the period of Chinese agricultural civilization: "There is no reading at home, where do officials come from?" "Regardless of right or wrong, it can be seen that there is no doubt that people want their children and grandchildren to read. Therefore, in the long history of China, the discussions and stories about reading books are numerous and innumerable.
With the progress of civilization, the reading form of "reading books breaks through ten thousand volumes, and the next pen is like a god" has undergone earth-shaking changes.
According to the "2019 China Digital Reading White Paper", as of 2019, the total number of digital reading users in China reached 470 million, the annual contact volume of e-books per capita was 15, the number of users who contacted more than 20 e-books reached 53.8%, and the proportion of users who read 3 or more times a week accounted for 88.0%.
As can be seen from the above statistics, people have shifted from the habitual paper book reading to the e-book reading. No matter what form of reading, a nation, a country, the more people consciously participate in the readership, the greater the number, the wider the scope, then the nation will be strong, the country will develop.
What is the standard for an e-book in statistics, how many words, how many pictures, how long the voice is, photography requirements, etc. I don't know. Since it is called a book, it has a certain capacity. Nowadays, no matter where you go, stations, streets, parks, fields, banquet tables and even walking, etc., as long as there is a crowd, you will see many men, women and children with their heads down, eyes not squinting, eyes focused - look at mobile phones, this should be a kind of e-book. From this speculation, the percentage of the above statistics should be greatly improved.
As age changes, it seems to be much lazier. The time spent playing cards and chess increased, and the time spent reading decreased, so a friend joked: "Old Stone, you are not so staying." "Paper books are sometimes read and flipped through, but I insist on reading e-books for at least three hours a day. If the words and sentences are read in detail, then you can read 15,000 words per hour, if you only have a cursory understanding, then you can see at least 20,000 words per hour, some only look at the title, some do not look at the title. On average, you can read about 50,000 words a day, so the amount of reading in a year is around 20 million words, which is how many e-books do not matter, anyway, it is not a small amount. Therefore, I know a little about family affairs, state affairs, world history, world history, written paintings and songs, eating and drinking fun, swimming in the water on land and running in the air, etc. When chatting and bragging, I quote the scriptures, talk about it, and have full confidence.
Sometimes when I am proud of the happiness and happiness brought by reading more books, the bitterness of reading inevitably hits my heart.
When I was in the middle of high school, I was in the period of "opening the door to run a school", the textbooks were limited, the language and mathematics were thin and a few pages, and even the professional "gongji book" and "agricultural base book" were also thin, even so, most of those poor books were "clean and clean". At the criticism meeting, the seminar, and the resting ground of the students, I broke the ground of these books over and over again, as if to find more secrets, and finally left regrets, and was ridiculed by my classmates: "You see that nerd." ”
After graduating from high school, where I came from, I had to take root in the countryside and change the world. Fortunately, at that time, every production team had a cultural room with a lot of books, and I was ordered to be a volunteer librarian. In addition to labor, I justifiably took it as my home, and read it all about cattle, ghosts, snakes, gods, class struggle, farm manure, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. No matter when and where the labor is wrapped in plastic paper, the book is taken out as long as there is time, and the cotton field, the weeds, and the shade of the trees are all good places to read. Some people giggled when they saw it: "Look at that nerd. ”
Soon after the college entrance examination was restored, all kinds of books sprung up like mushrooms, and whenever I went to the street and stomped into the bookstore, I saw a large number of beautiful books with many categories and a large number, and my heart "fluttered" and jumped: If I had these, it would be so good. But as soon as he touched his dry pocket, he quickly withdrew, envious of the bookstore clerk who was so happy and had endless books. Once, after working as a temporary worker in a town for two days and one night, earning fifteen yuan, he immediately ran to the bookstore and bought a large bag of books. It's really cheap enough, a twenty-five-page "Tang and Song Prose Eight Everyone" is only eight cents. Carrying other books on her back, holding the book of octagon money in both hands, I flipped through it as I walked, and accidentally touched the city girl, her long dark hair flicked to the back of her head, and glanced at me: "Nerd, still a countryman." ”
I don't know how to get it, but I didn't take root in the countryside, so I made God jump out of the "farm gate" and have more opportunities to read books. After graduating and joining the work, after receiving a salary every month, and after arranging the rice, oil and salt and the like, I ran to the bookstore to find my favorite. So accumulated day by day, year after year, the simple house and the four walls of the house have become the world of books, and of course, the world of my family. Some colleagues and friends quietly passed on after seeing it: "Look at that nerd." ”
Nerds have read many paper books and thousands of e-books, but there is still a big difference between the two: e-books have a large amount of information, easy to read and fast, but the results are almost fragmented, difficult to systematize, lack of charm, not easy to review, and some are not credible. Reading paper books can be professionalized, systematic, read wonderful, can be marked on the book, if it is their own book can also write a feeling, and then hold your head high, slightly close your eyes, the abstract text into an image slowly chew, appreciate, how comfortable it should be.
Today, in the circle of friends, I saw an article in the public account "Guoxue Culture" "Why read?" These 25 sentences are the best answers" article, which begins by saying: Reading is the lowest cost way to appreciate. Read in detail, feel that the words are speaking, sentences are the truth, even if you are older, don't forget to read. It seems that people living in the world should read more books, read good books, and open books is beneficial.
