I saw the rebuilt old bookstore, the size of more than 20 square meters, but it gives people a stronger sense of space, the original bookshelf is only half high, now it has reached a height of more than 4 meters, greatly expanding the amount of books, displaying nearly 10,000 old books, according to the historical biography, humanities and social sciences, periodicals and magazines, art appreciation, cultural life, economic management, foreign literature, classical literature, tool dictionary and other 11 plates classified and displayed. There are many treasure books, scarce books, out-of-print books, signed books in the Zhonghua Road store, not only Qing Dynasty engraved books, but also a lot of fine books from the 50s to 90s of the last century.
Ms. Zhu was pleasantly surprised that she only spent 5 yuan to find a copy of "Laughing Karma" by the famous artist Zhang Hatshui, whose paper had been yellowed, and there was even a bookmarked calendar in it. She said happily: "I took a fancy to this book "Laughing Karma", and I saw a beautiful almanac in the process of flipping through it, and it was from 1975, which was a bit of a surprise and had collectible value. ”
The newly opened Zhonghua Road store of the old store not only increased the supply of used books and insisted on 365 days of operation, but also retained the traditional service of the past. According to the salesperson, the store retains traditional businesses, such as the purchase of used books, helping readers find books and other convenient services.
It is understood that there are currently three second-hand bookstores in Shanghai, namely: Fuzhou Road store on the 2nd floor of Art Bookstore, No. 424 Fuzhou Road, Guangdong Road store at No. 620 Guangdong Road, and Zhonghua Road store, which opened today. Among them, the Fuzhou Road store is a temporary store location, which is expected to return after the overall renovation of No. 401 Fuzhou Road at the end of the year. In the future, Shanghai second-hand bookstores will build an offline second-hand book service network in the core urban area of Shanghai with the newly opened Zhonghua Road store, the renovated and upgraded Fuzhou Road store, and the Guangdong Road store.
