With the development of the times, comic books have been loved by more and more people and have become one of the symbols of Chinese culture. Comic strips have drawings and texts, which are easy to understand and suitable for all ages. Chinese comic strips can be traced back to the portrait stones of the Han Dynasty and the Dunhuang murals of the Northern Wei Dynasty, with successive frames depicting stories or biographies of characters. During the Wei and Jin dynasties, scroll paintings already possessed the characteristics of comic books. During the Sui and Tang dynasties, with the prosperity of Buddhism, there was a spread of Buddhism in the form of silk flags, which were painted with pictures and text descriptions. In the Song Dynasty, with the widespread use of printing, the form of comic books shifted from portrait stones and murals to manuscripts and books, and a large number of illustrated books appeared. During the Republican period, comic strips began to develop rapidly, with a certain scale and influence. After the liberation of China, from 1949 to 1966, it was a prosperous period, and the art of comic books developed greatly. After 1978, China's construction began to fully recover, and comic books also ushered in the peak of prosperity.

The comic book works have a high degree of artistry, and the drawing of each frame embodies the wisdom and skills of the creator, reflects the different styles of the painters, and creates batches of comic book artists. In the 1940s, the "Four Famous Dans" (Shen Manyun, Zhao Hongben, Qian Xiaodu, Chen Guangyi), the "Four Little Famous Dans" (Zhao Sandao, Bi Ruhua, Yan Meihua, Xu Hongda), in addition to Cheng Shifa, Liu Danzhai and so on. After the 1950s, "South Gu and North Liu" (Gu Bingxin, Liu Jidian), "North and South Erliu" ("North Liu" Liu Jidian, "South Liu" Liu Danzhai), Wang Shuhui, He Youzhi, Dai Dunbang, Hua Sanchuan, Shi Dawei, Li Tianxin, Li Weiding, Wang Hongli, etc. After the 1980s, there were "South Lei and North Yan" (Lei Dezu, Gao Yan) and so on. All of them have created a wealth of excellent works for us, and comic books, as a cultural art that is widely disseminated by the public, are deeply loved by comic book lovers.
