Wang Gongli's ink life

Wang Gongli's ink life

In my county calligraphy and painting class, mention Wang Gongli, that fame is not small. He is a member of the China Artists Association, the Shaanxi Provincial Artists Association, and a national first-class artist. He has been painting for more than 40 years, mainly specializing in western style paintings such as water-ink figures and yak camels. Today's program lets us get closer to Wang Gongli and understand his ink life.

The person in the picture who is concentrating on painting is today's protagonist Wang Gongli, who is a native of Zhixian Town, who has loved painting since childhood and has been working hard for many years.

I used to draw when I didn't know words, and there was a book box at home, and there were some books in the book box. At that time, I turned it over, and there were some paintings in it, and I liked it when I looked at it. Because it was small, I didn't understand it, so I tore it off and then drew it.

Painting requires talent, but it is also the author's long-term persistence and diligence, and Wang Gongli combines the two perfectly. In his many years of study, painting has always accompanied Wang Gongli. In 1983, he was conscripted into the army, and in 1985, he was admitted to the People's Liberation Army Art Academy in Beijing, where he studied under the famous painters Liu Dawei, Long Rui, Li Baofeng, etc. During this period of professional study, Wang Gongli humbly asked the teacher for advice, and was fascinated, and spent all his thoughts on painting. Two years later, Wang Gongli returned to the army again.

I have always insisted on the creation of military themes in the troops, as well as local themes, historical figures, landscapes, and paintings of company history and camp history for the troops at that time, some illustrations from the time of the vietnamese operation, as well as the heroic figures who appeared in the troops at that time, Chen Guanghui's illustrations, and the illustrations of the memorial hall, all of which were painted by me.

His long military career made Wang Gongli fall in love with the vast and boundless land of the west. By chance, Wang Gongli and his friends went to the Sanko grassland in Gannan, and it was here that he first met the yak and made the yak one of the main themes of his paintings.

Yak is also more bold, Chinese painting with a large face of the brush, personal aesthetic combination, from freehand to brush, I chose freehand. Freehand words, with the pen more free and unrestrained, so that can show the yak's spirit of self-improvement, that is, the weather is cold, the winter is so cold, the herders do not have to collect, they are crowded into a pile, snow falls on the body, not afraid, because the hair is very long, it is very hardy, so this spirit of the yak is also an inspiration for our lives.

Wang Gongli's works cover a wide range of subjects, including landscapes, figures, flowers, birds, insects and fish, especially the painting of yaks. His works are thick and condensed in pen and ink, and the pen is calm and powerful. The style of the work combines heroic freedom and depression and introversion, which not only has a strong subjective expression meaning, but also has a profound ideological connotation. In recent years, Wang Gongli has also combined the characteristics of the hometown of Fuping persimmons and the hometown of ink jade, and expressed products with Fuping characteristics such as persimmons and ink jade in his paintings, in order to publicize Fuping and promote Fuping, and his works have been unanimously praised by calligraphy and painting lovers.

In terms of painting, we must take this as a lifelong choice and not forget our original intention. Since choosing this, it can be said that it is tied to life. Constantly painting, constantly sketching, constantly creating, showing this work that lives up to the great era. If there is no global epidemic interference, our works will be exhibited abroad, so that more people can understand Chinese art and continuously promote this traditional culture.
