"The Long Song of the Yuan Lantern" is a work written by Fu Fei who has been rooted in northeast Jiangxi for twenty years and has been infused with painstaking efforts.

Fu Fei said that many years ago, he decided to absorb the nourishment of writing in the land where he lived, so he once again went to his birthplace, Zhengfang, a small town in the north of Shangrao City.

During the year, he spent about a third of his time living in the village, walking and deliberating with the villagers. In the village, he is not an observer of life, nor a fielder, but a long-lived person who lives as a villager.

For 20 years, he has traveled to the corners of the village (an area of about 20 square kilometers), investigated the living conditions of wild animals, visited hundreds of craftsmen, seriously ill patients, widowers, divorcees, gamblers, alcoholics, entrepreneurs, veterans, and collected local classics from the scattered folk.

Fu Fei said: "This is the most significant change that has taken place since I wrote it — from the study to the earth and to the people. The people are the beacons of my writing. ”

People-centered writing

According to the publisher, "The Long Song of the Lantern" takes the people as the center, each single article takes the character as the main body, some single-line narrative, some multi-line narrative, with poetic and delicate language, unique and innovative texts, full of sincere emotions, compassion and warm style, vivid and rich details, full of thick humanistic colors, the panorama presents the current rural living conditions, spiritual outlook, cultural inheritance and changes of the times, praising the beauty of human nature, labor, ethics, life, and the beauty of the times.

Fu Fei focused on the living conditions, inner troubles, spiritual outlook, and changes of the times of the people in the Ink Basin, and he established a legend for the river in the form of a village chronicle, a statue of the earth, and a god carved for the people.

He believes that "the people who are rooted in the earth are a group of people who always face the future and try to live hard, even if they give up their lives for it." They are full of enthusiasm and are not afraid of the wind and frost. ”

He tried to use his 20 years of prose creation practice to draw a "century-old life map" of the upper reaches of the Raobei River similar to the "Map of the Upper River of the Qingming Dynasty".

And in his drawing of this hundred-year life map, with the sensitivity and responsibility of a writer, he always placed the people in the first place in writing, "They are beacons all over the depths of the earth, and they are also beacons hanging on my paper." ”

Li Hao, winner of the Lu Xun Literature Prize, commented that Fu Fei started from the everyday and ordinary, starting from the concrete and cascading fireworks of life, established a valuable poetry and a stunning strangeness, in his words we originally thought that familiarity and commonplace have changed their appearance, becoming flowing, flowing, flowing poetry, it reverberates, it is far away, it contains taste, at the same time, it reflects the refractive light that is easy to ignore in daily life.

Readers comment that reading "The Long Song of the Yuan Lantern" is like stars filling the night sky, like lamps scattered on the earth.

The publisher believes that "Fu Fei is the recorder and writer of the people's writer of the 'great changes in the mountains and countryside' that is valuable in our time. ”
