Mercedes-Benz design, Geely development, Smart released a new SUV

In 2019, Mercedes-Benz and Geely cooperated, and the two companies each invested 50% to transform the smart brand into a pure electric vehicle brand. Recently, Smart officially released the first compact SUV model Smart 1 in Berlin, Germany.

The appearance of the new car can be said to be very designed, not only retaining the design of the concept car, but also blending the modern and rounded and cute style together. The new design makes the Smart Genie 1 no longer have the shadow of the former smart model, it is completely detached and more futuristic. The through-type headlights, combined with the polygonal and slightly rounded air intakes, add to the overall sense of sportiness and fashion of the new car.

In terms of body size, the Smart 1 is 4270 mm long, 1822 mm wide, 1636 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2750 mm and a standard 19-inch rim. Its exterior features design elements such as concealed electric door handles, frameless doors and suspended halo roofs. In terms of interior, in addition to the 9.2-inch instrument, 10-inch head-up display and 12.8-inch central control screen, the Smart 1 car basically does not have too many physical buttons. The car machine is equipped with a more intelligent networked in-vehicle entertainment information system.

The system will be more closely linked to personal smartphones, and users will be equipped with a dedicated and personalized interface within the in-car infotainment system. At the same time, the smart 1 vehicle has a highly integrated, high-performance network architecture, and more than 75% of the ECU of the whole vehicle can be continuously OTA updated and upgraded.

The Smart 1 is expected to be available in Europe and China by the end of 2022, but the exact price has not been announced.
