Volkswagen China's recent wave of confusing operations is a bit confusing.
Just two days ago (April 11), Volkswagen Imports finally announced the launch of arteon SR (full name: Arteon Shooting Brake R-Line, corresponding to our CC hunting version) in our country.
Before the Arteon SR was officially listed overseas last year, Volkswagen China said that the overseas version of the CC and CC hunting editions would be introduced into domestic sales in the future. Now more than a year later, the car has finally been introduced, but it seems that there are not many fans of station wagons in China.
The most immediate is definitely the pricing problem, the imported Arteon SR is much higher than the CC Hunting Edition.
The Price of arteon SR when it was listed overseas last year was 63,980 euros, which was about 499,000 yuan according to the exchange rate at the time. Now the domestic listed 2022 model in our domestic price is 348,000 yuan, compared to overseas indeed a lot of conscience, but a comparison with FAW-Volkswagen's CC hunting version (380TSI hunting wind version, this article mainly takes this high-power version to compare) is not fragrant, because the latter's current official price is only 299,900 yuan (the low-power hunting version is 40,000 yuan lower, the official guidance price is 25. 690,000 yuan), plus the discount of the terminal, compared to the imported version of the discount is a lot.
If the higher price can get the same configuration upgrade, we all recognize it. The problem is that Arteon SR not only canceled the crossover kit on the CC hunting car (using the R-Line sports kit, which looks good will be spent in each eye), from the perspective of power and configuration, imports are not as good as domestic.
In terms of power, the gearboxes are all 7-speed dual-clutch transmissions, but the engine is a bit awkward.
The Arteon SR is equipped with the same 2.0TSI engine, but instead of a 162kW high-power version, it uses a low-power version with a maximum power of 140kW (3kW more than the Eyehunt version in horsepower tuning), and a peak torque of 320N·m, which is 30N·m lower than the high-power version of 162kW. In terms of maximum power speed, arteon SR's piece is 4200-6000rpm, which is slightly better than the 4500-6200rpm of the CC Hunting Edition (Hunter Wind Edition), but overall in terms of engine, it is certainly not comparable to the CC Hunting Edition (Hunting Wind Edition).
In addition to power, the Arteon SR has also shrunk significantly in some configurations. For example, the CC Hunting Edition (Hunter Wind Edition) has a variable suspension function (adjusting the softness and hardness of the suspension), but the Arteon SR does not. Roof luggage rack, steering wheel heating, these domestic users are more important configurations, more HUD head-up display, rear seat heating and like 220V power interface, luggage compartment 12V power interface and so on. But in general, combined with the price, the configuration is definitely very different from the psychological needs of our domestic users.
So we also can't understand arteon SR with such power and configuration, and then give such a ceiling price, what is the significance of introducing the Chinese market, is it just to enrich the product lineup of imported car sales?
