Lu Xun, who used the name Zhou Zhangshou, later changed his name to Zhou Shuren, the character Yushan. "Lu Xun" was the pen name he used when he published The Diary of a Madman in 1918, and it was also his most widely influential pen name, a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang. Famous writer, thinker, democracy fighter, important participant of the May Fourth New Culture Movement, and the founder of modern Chinese literature. Mao Zedong once commented: "The direction of Lu Xun is the direction of the new culture of the Chinese nation. ”

The Scream contains fourteen novels written by Lu Xun from 1918 to 1922. In essence, Lu Xun uses two parallel and completely self-consistent logics.

Few modern Chinese writers can handle the relationship between reality and metaphor so seamlessly as he does. If you understand it, you will feel that he is talking about enlightenment, anti-feudal etiquette and traditional culture, but if you do not have such a preconceived and outdated interpretation view, only look at the narrative, what you see is backwardness and madness.

Here, sick/no sick, crazy/normal, irrational/rational are the front and back of a coin, completely one. Unlike many of the writers of The New Youth at that time, Lu Xun had already passed the passionate youth era when he wrote these articles, and in his own words, he was lonely, a person who looked around in a daze and had no response. Therefore, for enlightenment and modernity, Lu Xun could more deeply understand the two sides of it than any cultural person at that time, its paradox. That is to say, at the beginning of the enlightenment, Lu Xun had already predicted the possible end of the enlightenment.

New story

"New Story Compilation" is Lu Xun's ice-breaking work, and it is the richest rhetoric and the most colorful in Lu Xun's articles.

Although the mythical gods, heroes, and ancestors of myths and legends are all highlighted in the "story" with tragic overtones, they still can't hide the vividness of the book. The gods and superhuman heroes in "Patching Heaven" and "Running Moon" have all perished; the "backbone of China" in "Lishui" is trapped, losing the meaning of "backbone", or being alienated; the firm belief of the avenger in "Casting the Sword" coexists with the despair of self-destruction, and the dead bodies of the avengers and tyrants are also comically "admired" by the "spectators" in "Great Funeral".

In "New Story Edition", there is also a series of hidden but deep ironies: gods, heroes, and sages live in the world, always surrounded by other humble little people, who dissolve and strangle the "backbone" while watching their own plays. Sadly, they have a more tenacious vitality, so far.

As the name suggests, the flowers that fall early in the morning are picked up in the evening. Bend down calmly, stare, reminisce, pick it up. This originally simple and peaceful process was given a new meaning by Mr. Lu Xun.

He remembered his happy childhood, the superstitious but benevolent Aunt Ah, the strict and simple Mr. Fujino, and some other figures that are now commonly known. We clearly know that Ah Chang's mother likes to sleep with the word "big" and tell "me" some polite and superstitious etiquette; we know that Mr. Fujino has a very different image from the inhumane image of the "Japanese devil", "black and thin Mr.", "eight-character beard, wearing eyes, sandwiched between a stack of large and small books", he sighed that Lu Xun no longer studied medicine, he sincerely hoped that new medicine could be introduced to China, and this "hope" made Lu Xun feel the greatness of Mr. Fujino even more, and so did we.

When Lu Xun wrote "Wild Grass", it was at the right time for the "May Fourth" tide, as the author said in the "Self-Selected Collection" Self-Prologue: "Later, the group of "New Youth" dispersed, some rose high, some retreated, some advanced, and I experienced that my partners in the same battle would still change like this", in this case, "with a small feeling, I wrote some short articles, exaggerated, that is, prose poems, and later printed into a book, called "Wild Grass". At the time of compiling the book, as recorded at the end of the "Inscription", it was later when Chiang Kai-shek launched the "April 12" Qing Party.

In a letter to Xiao Jun on October 9, 1934, Lu Xun said of "Wild Grass": "My "Wild Grass", the technology is not bad, but the mood is too decadent, because I wrote it after touching many nails." In the "Huagai Collection Sequel • Maritime Communications", it is said: "As for "Weeds", it is difficult to say whether it will be done or not after that, and it is probably not necessarily necessary to do it again, saving people from falsely trusting their confidants and licking their skins and bones, what is 'into the heart'. ”

Wandering is a collection of novels written by Lu Xun from 1924 to 1925.

The title page of the book has the author's inscription:

Chao Fa xuan in the cangwu xi, the sunset to the county garden; want to leave less of this spiritual triviality, the day suddenly put it twilight.

I will look forward to the long and unhurried; the road is long and the road is long, and I will seek up and down.

Mr. Lu Xun wrote "Wandering" in the period of differentiation of the new cultural camp after the "May Fourth" Movement. It turned out that those who had participated in the New Culture Movement "some retired, some rose high, and some advanced," and Lu Xun was "lonely" and "wandering" like You Yong, who could not form a battle. "Wandering" expresses his mood of exploration on the revolutionary journey during this period.
