Recently, Kia officially announced that it will recall 26 Kia Sorento vehicles produced between March 3 and March 8 this year, because the vehicle may have a faulty engine oil leak, resulting in the risk of fire. Kia said the breakdown of three of the vehicles has been resolved and most of the remaining vehicles have not yet been sold. Meanwhile, Kia's partner Hyundai Motor held a meeting on March 21 to check all of its products using the same engine.
According to Kia Motors' official inspection of the powertrain of the affected vehicles, it was found that due to manufacturing errors, there was a problem with the piping of the 2.5T turbocharged V6 engine in 26 Kia Sorento, which could lead to cracks in the joints of the pipes, which were not easy to detect during the later inspection process, resulting in oil leakage.
In the past decade, about 7,000,000 cars between Hyundai and Kia have been recalled due to fire-related problems. In February, the two companies issued notices to affected customers asking them to park their cars outdoors and wait for maintenance personnel to carry out free inspections and repairs.
