Overwatch usually celebrates its birthday throughout May, giving players access to skins and decorations they've missed over the years.
And this month, on the game's sixth anniversary, the last cheer before overwatch 2 was released, things will be a little different.
From April 5th to 26th, players can fill their decoration warehouse with Overwatch Anniversary Remix. The first part of the celebration includes six legendary skins that "remix", as well as the return of three weekly challenges, including some of the most popular skins in the game, such as Basteet Ana.
While discussed in the past, the developers confirmed at the event that all skins, paint, and player icons will be transferred to Overwatch 2, which launched closed beta on April 26. For skin collectors, this event offers an unprecedented opportunity to stock up on rare skins before the next era of Overwatch arrives.
Overwatch Anniversary Remix features six "new" Legendary skins, which are repainted versions of some of the most commonly used skins in the game, including the white versions of The Witch Angel, Ghost Genji, Black Cat D.Va, Cult ZenJata, Raven Reaper, and Black Emperor Reinhardt.
Throughout the event, the previous three weekly challenges will return, giving players the opportunity to unlock popular skins they might have missed the first time. D.Va's signature green-toned skin will be the first to emerge in the Challenge from April 5-11.
As with all Overwatch Anniversary events, all previous seasonal decorations can be unlocked with coins or through anniversary loot boxes. Almost all skins in the game will be snapped up in this hybrid event, so use gold wisely.
Seasonal events will also return with the Anniversary Mix, with new seasonal events popping up in arcade mode every day during the period. Of course, there will be a rotation of PVE story mode every week, Xiaomei Snowball Battle, Lucio Ball Game and other return game modes.
The 2022 full anniversary remix was held several times, with the first part running from April 5 to 26, in line with the Closed Beta of Overwatch 2 on April 26.
