Privately modified electric vehicles spontaneously combust when charging
On the afternoon of March 20, an electric bicycle that was being charged in the underground garage of a residential area in Taishun County, Wenzhou City, suddenly spontaneously combusted, and the fire rescue personnel rushed to the scene for disposal at the first time after receiving the alarm.
As can be seen from the video, the flame generated by the spontaneous combustion of electric vehicles is very fierce and the smoke is very large. According to the duty officers in the control room, the smoke alarm had also been raised at that time, and they quickly rushed to the scene after hearing the alarm.
After the smoke is detected, the sprinkler system starts on its own and sprays water in time to extinguish the fire. When fire rescuers arrived at the scene, the open flame had been extinguished, and only the frame of the electric car after burning was left in the garage.
Fire rescuers then removed the burned-out electric bikes out of the garage. It is understood that the owner of the electric vehicle modified the electric vehicle privately after purchasing the electric vehicle, and eventually spontaneous combustion caused a fire.
