In a report seen by 9to5Mac, analyst Jeff Pu said that according to his supply chain survey, the iPhone 14 is currently in the EVT stage and has not been affected by the previous outbreak.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the increase in rear camera size for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is due to the new 48-megapixel wide-angle system.
In a tweet, Guo responded to a design sketch that Max Weinbach recently shared. The sketch shows that the rear camera module of the iPhone 14 Pro model will increase by about 5% in size in each dimension.
Guo said: "The main reason why the camera bulge is larger and more prominent is that Apple upgraded the rear camera to 48 million pixels. He added that the diagonal length of the iPhone's contact image sensor (CIS) will increase by 25 to 35 percent with the 48-megapixel jump. Similarly, the height of the camera lens system will increase by 5% to 10%.
The 48MP camera system is expected to be limited to the iPhone 14 Pro model and support for 8K video recording, a major upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro's 12MP camera and 4K video recording capabilities.
