Quanyouxing 65W gallium nitride fast charge disassembly
After having a basic understanding of the appearance and performance of the charger, the following continues to disassemble it to see how the internal device layout and circuit of this charger are designed based on the fast charging scheme of Xinguan Technology and Gengyuan Technology.
Disassemble the charger along the input housing seam, solder the input wire to the PCB, and glue it.
Remove the PCBA module.
The back of the module is covered with a large thermal pad to dissipate heat from heat-generating elements such as gallium nitride power devices and rectifier bridges.
The front of the PCB is at a glance, glued and reinforced between the capacitor and the transformer, and the isolation slot is provided between the primary components and the insulation plate is inserted to strengthen the insulation.
On the back of the PCB are input rectifier bridges, gallium nitride power chips, primary controllers, optocouplers, synchronous rectifier tubes, and synchronous buck converters.

The primary main controller chip of the charger adopts The MK2697A, which is a QR PWM controller optimized for PD/fast charging applications. Its wide VCC operating voltage range (9V-90V) allows it to cover the PD/PPS output range from 3.3V-23V without the need for additional windings or linear buck circuitry.
The MK2697 is designed for efficiency requirements and features an adaptive multi-mode due to the fact that PD/Fast Charge has multiple different output voltages. It is adjusted to work at DCM/QR at different loads and outputs. At light loads, it will operate in burst mode to improve efficiency.

The charger has a built-in Dalian Xinguan XG65T300HS2A Gallium nitride switch tube, which is a D-MODE depletion type, with a withstand voltage of 650V and a conductivity of 240mΩ, and adopts DFN8*8 package. XG65T300HS2A supports 20V gate voltage, which is compatible with traditional controllers, simplifying the drive circuit, and the gate withstand voltage has enough headroom to deal with unfavorable factors such as voltage overshoot during switching, avoiding potential damage and failure of the device.

After introducing the AC-DC part inside the charger, the following is the DC-DC part inside the charger. The charger uses a quasi-resonant flyback topology with a fixed output voltage to power the secondary buck circuit. Remove the buck inductor and filter capacitor on the front, you can see the buck controller and protocol chip under the inductor, and the two symmetrical support 65W power blind plug.
The buck controller is the cultivation source CY6572, which is a 40V input synchronous buck controller, the input voltage supports 4.5-40V, suitable for a variety of application scenarios. The chip uses voltage mode control with superior load regulation and linear regulation. The switching frequency is programmable by external resistors to support protection features such as programmable soft-start and cycle-by-cycle current limiting with a 99% duty cycle in a thermally enhanced TSSOP-14 package.

The synchronous rectifier tube uses JMTQ3008A, NMOS, withstand voltage 30V, conductivity resistance 6mΩ, and adopts PDFN 3.3*3.3-8L package.
The two protocol chips are The Cultivation Source CY2332, which is a highly integrated USB PD fast charge controller, which is USB-IF PD3.0/PPS certified and supports Qualcomm QC4/4+ fast charge protocol. The main firmware memory is single-time programming, and the system configuration memory supports multiple programming. Support the use of NMOS for VBUS control, support for e-Marker cable, suitable for USB PD fast charging.

The VBUS switch tube is the same model as the synchronous buck switch tube, JMTQ3008A. The upper right R010 resistor is used for output current sampling.
