Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

It still offers loading, shooting, looting, plus a nice story – Borderlands flavor

This is the summary of my experience in "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" from zero to one week.

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

Before today's review begins, I would like to mention the DLC "Little Tina Strange Raid Dragon Castle" of Masterless 2.

When I saw little Tina gently holding roland's statue, very calmly accepting the fact that Roland left her, and saying goodbye softly in her own way, as a "macho man", I was indeed silent - because the story is really well told, and the series is one of the best.

I think for many series players, this DLC has a very special significance, so for this new work that continues the world view of The Dragon Castle, everyone's expectations should not be low, dare to buy the kind.

In "Little Tina's Fantasy Land", I did feel GearBox's ambition to replicate the raid on Dragon Castle once again, and I also saw the makers' breakthrough in the "Borderlands" mode.

In "Little Tina's Fantasy Land", we will play the protagonist "Rookie Rookie", together with the new characters Valentine and Fayena (feeling to be an important role in the next game), accompany Little Tina to embark on a "Borderlands" adventure in her self-created board game "Bunkers and Villains", and make friends with the fart stallion, Brick, Tog, and Little Noisy, and finally defeat the big boss of the game, the Dragon Demon King, and save the world in laughter.

As a sequel rather than a DLC, "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" also has a unique style, from the UI to the scenes, props, characters and other art resources are refreshing, coupled with the still very grounded localization, C language full of translation + dialect dubbing, which makes it give people a very good first impression.

And then I will be a player who has been touched by "Little Tina Strange Raid dragon castle", and I will talk to you carefully about "Little Tina's Fantasy Land".

It's not the same as Borderlands

According to the running group convention, you formally "car" a character card for yourself before entering the game.

"Little Tina's Fantasy Land" also breaks the ground to allow us to set the appearance of the protagonist... Despite being limited by the overall comic book style and talent for pinching faces, I was unable to produce a "good-looking character".

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

We can set the origin for the protagonist, the birth affects the initial attributes of the character, there are a few attribute points that can be freely assigned, and you can also choose one of the 6 classes to become your main class, and the freedom to create the character is definitely the highest in the Borderlands series.

It is worth mentioning that the self-created character has a total of 6 voice lines, but unlike other RPG that can set the voice, the protagonist can only issue some tone words or move roll calls, in the whole story, our protagonist and other protagonists in the "Borderlands" canon have a lot of opportunities to speak, and the protagonist also expresses his own opinions on different occasions, which makes people feel very substitutionary.

▲ 6 protagonists and the whole voice is still Chinese, and the workload of dubbing alone makes people admire The sincerity of Gear Box

As for why the 3 players only created one character, Little Tina also gave a reasonable explanation - Valentine patronized to draw himself under the "Your Hero" column to forget the car character attributes, and Fayena set for her character that the novice sword can cause hundreds of millions of damage, so in order to take care of the "game experience" of the owner of the dungeon, Tina Jr., this round of adventure unfolds in the form of three stinky cobblers breaking into the dungeon together.

On the basis of Borderlands, many D&D stylized changes and explorations have made the experience fresh, which is the biggest difference between "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" and "Borderlands", which DLC "Little Tina Storms the Dragon Castle" did not do.

To give a few examples, as with the D&D Run, we earn Hero Points as we level up, which can be assigned to strength, agility, intelligence, intelligence, physique, and coordination, which affect the character's critical damage, critical strike chance, health, skill cooldown, and other basic attributes.

In terms of class choices, we have 6 types of options: Sword Warrior, Magic Golden Gunner, Frost Warrior, Son of the Grave, Spore Ranger and Dragon Warrior, just by listening to the name, you can feel that these classes are more like the product of a fusion of D&D running groups and Borderlands, each class has 1 passive, 2 active and a skill tree that can be switched.

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

Compared with the previous Borderlands series, each class has multiple skill branches to choose from, and the degree of career training freedom in this game seems to be not so high, but it is actually the opposite.

In the middle of the process, we will be able to unlock the sub-class, we can choose one of the remaining 5 classes, at this time the option is suddenly increased from 6 single classes to 15 permutations, active skills can also choose 1 of 4, according to the emphasis on the skill tree of the main/sub-class, the same class combination can also play different experiences.

For example, when I look around, I choose the main and sub-classes are Spore Ranger and Dragon Warrior, their passive skills are to summon babies, take their own flying dragons and small mushrooms to adventure in this fantasy land, someone attracts hatred in battle, hits damage and can even save you when you fall to the ground, which can make people feel very at ease, and spore Ranger's skills focus on enhanced summoning and AOE ability, Dragon Warrior can give themselves various attributes of the attack and strengthen these attribute attacks, So in the end, my addition not only takes into account the summoning system buffs of the 3rd Generation Beast King, but also can flexibly use different attributes to deal with different enemies like the Witch.

In terms of equipment system, many small changes in Little Tina's Fantasy Lands also bring a more refreshing combat experience.

The artifacts and class mods of the Unowned Series have become 2 rings, armor and necklaces today, and more equipment holes further increase the upper limit of character cultivation (although the last ring hole will not be unlocked until one week);

This game also adds melee weapons, with different attack modules such as knives, large swords, axes, hammers, etc., and also has basic attributes and affix bonuses like guns. In the choice of combat routines, the addition of melee weapons adds more possibilities to some of the original melee specialized types of builds, like the one-punch superman gameplay of the witch Amara in Masterless 3, which is because the value of the late period is inflated and its melee module is single and the value is fixed and it is difficult to become mainstream, in this game, it is completely possible to build a build around an excellent melee weapon.

And buffs similar to "melee enhanced shooting damage" can also provide buffs for shooting, and close combat attacks are fused in the "combo moves" of shooting, compared with the previous borderlands in the late stages of the borderlands, everyone always throws grenades while hitting guns, which can also bring us a very fresh "gun fighting" experience.

By the way, there are no grenades in this game, but instead of a more fantasy style "spell", it is not like a grenade has a fixed stock and can be replenished by purchasing, it takes a certain amount of time to cool down after each use, and in form, it also changes from a single throwing explosion to a charge shooting, summoning creations, applying halo effects to yourself, and so on.

After incorporating some spells into a specific build, it can often play a 1+1>2 effect, such as an orange spell "Resurrection (Bounty)" that I brushed during the clearance process, its CD is 30 seconds long, and it is often not used several times in a battle, but the powerful red-letter affix can heal and resurrect the fallen partner - you say coincidentally, my main build just relies on two "partners" to achieve justice and play one more, so this special effect provides a great help to my later research.

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

You will find that "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" is still very "Borderlands", this game retains the core of Borderlands "brush treasure + shooting", "fire, thunder, corrosion, freezing corresponding to different enemies", "each red note has a special effect" and other elements, and the later game experience is even more original.

You see, in Borderlands, we hold a staff called "Gun" and throw out some offensive props that write "bullets" that are actually magic, and the same is true of "Little Tina's Fantasy Land", probably because the theme is more suitable for magic to play, Gear Box is more open in this game, and the player's choice of build is more free.

So where is its fantasy

Through the gorgeous audio-visual experience of video games, it shows the feeling of some twisting and racking of brains when the traditional running group, and the fantasy world, characters and battles that originally need imagination to make up for the brain are very vividly moved to this fantasy land, which makes "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" leave a deep impression on me.

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

Instead of borderlands teleporting through portals through various small scenes, Little Tina's Fantasy Land connects all the scenes with a large map, and on the large map we will operate the protagonist of the big-headed doll in the third person, just like operating our own pieces in a board game.

The river on the big map is overturned soda, after removing a yellow cylindrical barricade with a little debris, there will be the sound of little Tina chewing cheese sticks outside the screen, dice, chips, pushpins and other common props when playing board games, and will appear in this world in a contradictory and harmonious way, jointly creating the overall style of this game between reality and fantasy.

In the traditional first-person minimap, like the routine that Gear Box played in "Little Tina Raids the Dragon Castle", "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" also follows the basic rules of "the master of the dungeon must follow the law", like a peaceful and quiet castle one moment, but the next moment it is caught in the fire of war because of little Tina's narration.

▲ U1S1, thanks to the advancement of hardware and engine rendering technology, there are more such amazing scenes in the fantasy land

Little Tina used her wild and even crazy brain holes to bring us a less serious D&D run.

For example, not long after the game began to save the base of the game "Flash Cry City", we originally planned to take a boat to cross the sea to kill the base camp of the Dragon Demon King, this routine is not uncommon in both American RPGs and Japanese RPGs, the protagonists often have to face the vast fantasy world after walking out of the novice village, and the "boat/flying ship" appears the most frequently in various means of transportation, after all, navigation is a romance engraved in the DNA of adventurers.

And when I found the bard who blessed the ship and found out that he was Uncle Tog, I understood that the next unfolding should be very counter-routine.

In fact, after pretending to play the instrument a few times, the big man, who was proficient in all kinds of "C languages" and particularly fond of explosions, couldn't help it—and then our boat was overturned, revealing a missile well underneath, and a dozen tactical nuclear (probably) shells bloomed at the end of the sea level with huge mushroom clouds, which incidentally triggered a skyrocketing tsunami —the whole ocean was blown up, and finally we had to run the map on two legs on the dry seabed.

As you venture into The Mountain, you'll encounter a lot of goblins, a very common creature in D&D rules games, and Tina's Fantasy Lands with a bizarre interpretation, where your mission is to join the Goblin Rebellion Alliance and help canned goblins with a uniquely ugly style to free their enslaved compatriots — she means to bring those goblins from the sunny spring blossoming outdoors back to the cold, damp and hungry crypts.

Watching the goblins being assembled to revolt and chanting slogans such as "Where there is oppression, there is resistance" and "the fate of the goblins is also fate", and then returning to the underground, it can give people a wonderful feeling that something is wrong and logically self-consistent.

And on the journey through the underwater temple, our small team began to disagree about the NPC Sarina personality, the lord of the underground city, Little Tina insisted on installing an "ugly but very gentle" setting for her, and the player repeatedly questioned the rationality of "spiritual beauty" during the journey, and finally Little Tina started a temper tantrum, and the result was that we had to face the scene of defeating the boss at the bottom of the level three times, and then it was pulled to the table by gambling in several people's arguments, which was really a bit laughable.

Such stories are common in "Little Tina's Fantasy Land", where Little Tina controls and changes the Bunker and the Villain in her hands at will, and brings us a chaotic journey with her crazy and childlike imagination.

It can be said that this running group story is very unclassical from beginning to end, but it is indeed very "borderlands", and that is enough.

[pagesplitxx] [pagetitle] Summary[/pagetitle]

summary

In terms of the length of the main line, "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" is not a long adventure, I only spent less than 15 hours a week to complete the level, of course, this premise is that I hardly do side lines nor do much level brush equipment, and there are many maps in the game that have nothing to do with the main line, and each map hides a wealth of explorable elements.

We can find a golden 20-sided dice-like loot box in the hidden corner of the map, and a D20 judgment will be made when the box is unpacked, affecting the quality of the loot;

Look for the poet's legacy of psalms/amnesia scattered everywhere in the memory marbles, and they are actually the words of little Tina's heart that cannot be said normally, through which you can also explore the soft inner world under the crazy appearance of little Tina;

Many of the old friends of the Borderlands series/Little Tina storming Dragon Castle are also there with their new stories waiting for us to discover.

If you want to collect the full game time, you may have to run for 40 hours, and in terms of volume, "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" can still provide game content that is not inferior to any of the canonical games of Borderlands.

It is worth mentioning that after completing the main line, we can also play a new mode called "House of Chaos".

In the House of Chaos, we need to pass through a large level consisting of many random dungeons, each of which has a randomly generated scene, enemy type and distribution, and consume diamonds obtained by defeating enemies/levels, we can strengthen our attributes to make our battles easier in the next levels, we can also consume enemies in diamond enhancement levels, after defeating these elite enemies, we can get more generous diamond rewards.

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

After completing all the encounters, we can inject diamonds into the stone statues representing different types of equipment/weapons at the bottom of the level to get loot, and this very "meat pigeon" Chaos House can play a whole game in about 15 minutes, which is not time-consuming, and the rewards are quite rich.

Little Tina's Fantasy Land Review: It's Borderlands 3.5

Compared to the time-consuming and somewhat boring gameplay of Running Around and Brushing Bosses in Borderlands, The House of Chaos is both challenging and full of freshness with each reopening experience.

At least as Borderlands 3.5, it meets or even somewhat exceeds my expectations, and if you also have a friend who once played through Little Tina's Raid on dragon castle, then the fully evolved Little Tina's Fantasy Land is definitely worth the two of you getting together again, and then going back to that touched afternoon as N years ago.
