Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

How many people

From small to large

There was a conversation with my mom like this:

Nosebleeds?

Look up and stuff it with paper!

Fish stinging throat?

Swallow the rice!

Small physical problems?

Try folk remedies!

But actually...

These "nationally harmonized" treatments

It can be said that it is "suicide" first aid!

Presumably everyone has had nosebleeds.

Lucky people may be a trickle; the sad one is a rushing "gush of blood".

Even woke up in the middle of the night confused and found yourself lying in a "pool of blood"... The scene is spectacular.

So the question arises?

Why do we have nosebleeds[1]?

Along with nosebleeds, there is usually an urgent action of parents: hurry up and look up! Immediately roll the toilet paper into strips and plug it into your nostrils to stop the bleeding!

But this practice is very wrong!

When you put your head up, the blood that is originally in the nose will flow backwards to the nasopharynx and larynx, which may irritate the gastric mucosa and cause vomiting, and may also be poured into the lungs, causing a choking cough [2].

If the blood clotts, it's even more dangerous. If a blood clot is sucked into the trachea, it can cause suffocation!

Can a nosebleed still suffocate? This is not alarmist.

Some time ago, there was a similar matter on the hot search: a 3-year-old boy in Changsha, Hunan Province, looked up to stop the bleeding after nosebleeds, and unfortunate things happened - blood clots entered the trachea and caused suffocation, and finally rescue failed.

It is wrong to look up to stop the bleeding, and it is not correct to stuff paper towels with nosebleeds.

If the paper towel is stuffed less, there is no way to stop the bleeding; if the plug is more, the process of roughly rotating the paper towel into the nasal cavity is likely to cause nasal mucosal damage. Old wounds are hurting, and new wounds are being added, making the fragile nose worse.

What is the right thing to do?

It's simple, just three steps: calm, lean forward, pinch your nose.

Don't panic when you encounter things, first take out your phone to take a picture and send it... Get it wrong, come again!

First of all, lean forward to avoid nosebleeds from flowing to the oropharynx; use a tissue to block the spilled blood, but it is not recommended to pinch the tissue into a ball and stuff it into the nasal cavity! (If there are clean medical cotton balls, gently compress to stop the bleeding.) )

Second, breathe gently with your mouth to prevent blood from choking into the airway; if there is blood in your mouth, you should try to spit it out so as not to irritate the stomach and cause vomiting.

Finally, use your fingers to pinch the sides of the nose for 10 to 15 minutes, continue to breathe with your mouth, you can easily stop the bleeding.

This method is suitable for people with bleeding in the front of the nasal cavity. After all, the anterior part of the nasal cavity is most common among the bleeding points of the nose [3].

If the bleeding does not stop after 15 minutes, it is recommended to do it again and continue to pinch the nose wings for 10 to 15 minutes.

Follow these three steps, when the amount of nosebleed blood is not high, it will soon stop!

Although nosebleeds are small things, but do not pay attention to the following situations, you must go to the hospital:

1. Nosebleeds for more than 30 minutes, and feeling dizzy, go to the hospital accompanied by someone.

2. Frequent nosebleeds (a small stream for two days, a large flow for three days), it is recommended to go to the hospital to find out the cause.

3. A large number of nosebleeds (gushing friends), you may be bleeding from the nasal arteries, go to the hospital quickly, it is important to save your life.

The late-night OTOL emergency department is exclusive to fish lovers.

I don't know how many fish eaters are stuck by small fish spines and rush into the ear, nose and throat emergency room.

There are even many people, with a fluke mentality, who have been dragging on until they can't stand it, before going to the doctor.

What should I do if my fish has a stuck throat?

In the hearts of many people, drinking vinegar + swallowing rice balls can be said to be a "card throat package".

The heart is that the traditional "card throat package" is not only useless, but may still be a "death package"!

Swallowing rice balls not only does not help fish thorns pass through the esophagus, but can also cause perforations [4]. The esophagus is softer than we thought, and there are 3 physiological narrows, all of which can be damaged or even punctured by fish spines.

Drinking vinegar when stuck in the throat is also the first option for many people. Although vinegar can soften the bones, but drink the amount that can soften the bones... Are you going to drink a "billion" bottle of vinegar? In addition, drinking plenty of water, swallowing, and even inducing vomiting are irrational behaviors [5,6].

What should I do if the fish is stuck in the throat?

1. Do not swallow rice balls, do not drink water, do not drink vinegar; try to avoid swallowing movements to prevent the fish bones from getting stuck deeper.

2. You can open your mouth wide, let the people around you light up to see the location of the fish bones, if it is relatively shallow, you can try to take it out with forceps (the action should be gentle, just try, if you can't take it out, don't forcibly take it out).

3. However, it is important to save your life, it is still recommended to go to the hospital!

This seems to be a mysterious and mysterious topic.

Remember the folk remedies of being brainwashed by mom and grandma in those years?

At this time, many students may not be able to sit still:

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

Don't get excited, let's take stock of them one by one.

The three major tortures that plague contemporary people – hemorrhoids, hair loss, mouth ulcers, and the corresponding folk remedies.

1, hemorrhoids - chrysanthemum stuffed garlic

I have to say that this buddy is really brave.

But sorry, garlic itself has a strong irritation, not only can not "poison attack the poison", but also aggravate the hemorrhoids.

In addition to garlic, hemorrhoidal patients also look up various "hemorrhoid" treatments online: smoke, sitz bath, lubrication, herbs... Even, cut yourself...

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

Stop, stop, stop this "suicidal" treatment!

Medically speaking, hemorrhoids are a blood vessel mass, a soft vein mass formed by the dilation of veins near the anus, and cutting the blood vessels by yourself can be a big problem [7,8]! Serious hemorrhoids must go to the hospital in time!

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

This is not to say that hemorrhoids cannot be self-managed.[9]

For most people, prevention is the best management!

Risk factors for hemorrhoids include dry stools, frequent stools, prolonged squatting, alcoholism, pungency, and lack of intake of crude fiber foods [10,11].

Changing your diet and squatting habits is better than any folk remedy.[12]]

2, ginger to cure hair loss - quite bald

Except for the head, the hair elsewhere is very strong, which is the pain of all bald people.

Hair is even precious to... Each one has its own name.

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

There are many possible causes of hair loss [13-16].

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

On the anti-shedding road, have you also tried these methods: ginger slices to wipe the head, ginger baking oil, various ginger shampoos...

These methods are not only useless, but harmful to hair! [17] This is because:

The main ingredient of ginger is 6-gingerol, which not only does not promote hair follicle growth, but also may inhibit hair growth;

When ginger is applied to the scalp, it may irritate the scalp, resulting in contact dermatitis, the appearance of local redness and swelling exudate;

In addition to ginger shampoos, most of the other anti-hair loss shampoos you see on the market have not been verified by large samples of clinical observation, and their efficacy has yet to be confirmed.

Anti-hair loss shampoos should be treated with a normal heart and cannot be fully counted on.

That hair loss is so serious, can it be false, should it be supplemented?

It is indeed beneficial to supplement the diet with black food appropriately, because it contains trace elements that are indispensable for hair growth, but it is also impractical to pin hopes on eating black food.

If your hair loss is severe, actively look for the cause, it is wise to go to a regular tertiary hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

3, mouth ulcers - do not always contain a vitamin C tablet

Mouth ulcers are not a serious disease, it is very painful!

Anyone who has experienced it knows that enjoying food is no longer happy...

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

In the face of pain, many people will choose vitamin C tablets.

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

But actually... It really doesn't have to be useful.

The exact cause of mouth ulcers is currently unknown, but may be related to factors such as immunodeficiency, nutritional deficiencies, psychological stress, genetic infections, indigestion, and even the menstrual cycle in women can affect the onset of mouth ulcers. However, it has not been found that there is a relationship between mouth ulcers and vitamin deficiency.

What should I do if I have a mouth ulcer?

Remember one thing: accelerate the healing of the ulcer, take care of the mouth, certainly not stimulate it (those methods of using ginger and green pepper are of course not advisable), specifically can do these things [18, 19]:

Avoid the use of harsh toothpaste containing sodium lauryl sulfate, it is recommended to use a protective ointment recommended by a doctor;

Use a soft small-headed toothbrush (usually avoid large and hard toothbrushes, teeth are not floors nor toilets);

Don't eat hard, spicy, heavy, sour, hot foods.

Avoid factors that induce or worsen ulcers, such as smoking, alcohol, and stress [20].

Medication will speed up the healing of ulcers, you can choose antibacterial mouthwash and pain relief mouthwash (children are banned), corticosteroid lozenges (not suitable for children under 12 years old), watermelon cream of proprietary Chinese medicine, etc.

If you suffer from mouth ulcers, tell you the good news: generally mild mouth ulcers can heal themselves within 1 to 2 weeks.

So – persistence is victory!

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

If the mouth ulcer is serious, don't rely on self-perseverance, medical treatment is a better choice. In the following cases, it is recommended to go to the hospital to see:

Nosebleeds looking up, stuck fish stinging and swallowing rice... This "suicide" first aid pits too many people

There are always people who do not believe what the doctor says, like to listen to the folk remedies, and feel that the folk remedies have a mysterious power.

But in fact, these unfounded folk remedies are no different from "human blood steamed buns"!

Believe in science, learn more about reliable knowledge, so that you can deal with pain correctly. You should see a doctor, you should take medicine and take medicine, and soon you will be a good man again! You can also forward it to the crowd of people who love each other and show it to your parents.

Writing here, I suddenly found that nosebleeds - fish thorns stuck in the throat - mouth ulcers - hair loss - hemorrhoids, this is the truth of everyone's life from childhood - youth - prime-adulthood - middle age - old age!
