In the 2021 global communication equipment rankings, Huawei won the first place with nearly 30% of the share! From the early days of 5G construction to the present, Huawei has been playing an important role in the industry. According to the data released by CNMO, from the perspective of sales, Huawei accounted for 28.7% of the global communication equipment market last year, an increase of 7% year-on-year, ranking first for two consecutive years.
Ranked 2nd was Ericsson with a share of 15%, followed by Nokia, which ranked 3rd, with 14.9%, and ZTE, Cisco, and Samsung Electronics with a share of 10.5%, 5.6% and 3.1%, respectively. It is worth mentioning that ZTE, which ranks 4th, is also a Chinese enterprise. However, compared with Huawei's leading share, there is still a lot of room for improvement for enterprises in other communications industries, and the communications market will inevitably maintain growth.
In 2021, the communication equipment market grew by 7%, achieving 4 consecutive years of growth. Since 2017, total sales in this market have grown by about 20% to reach $100 billion. It is expected to grow by about 4% in 2022, which will be the world of major top communications companies. Among them, Huawei's strength is self-evident, and it is precisely because Huawei's rise is too dazzling that the United States has launched sanctions against Huawei.
Today, U.S. sanctions are still affecting Huawei's mobile business. Data show that Huawei's global smartphone shipments fell by 81.6% in 2021, and its market share fell from 15% to 3%. At the same time, Huawei's revenue in 2021 fell by 28.9% to only 634 billion yuan, and the missing revenue does not need to be said to know which part. 1. Welcome cooperation between the two countries
Previously, the United States had tried every means to persuade other countries to abandon Huawei, the main reason was that Huawei had security problems. However, the relevant personnel in the United Kingdom have officially said that after the investigation, no security problems of Huawei 5G have been found, but huawei 5G has been abandoned under pressure from other aspects.
At the same time, some British operators have said that they want to dismantle Huawei's 5G equipment, but the time for demolition has been delayed again and again. Sources from foreign media said that the deadline for the use of Huawei's 5G equipment has been delayed by 6 months, reducing its use to 35% by the end of January 2023. Even so, it does not mean that it should be completely stopped, in the final analysis, it is still the reluctance of foreign media to be demolished.
Huawei 5G has been selected and cooperated by countries around the world, and some countries firmly support Huawei 5G. For example, Zambia in Africa, Russia in Europe, and Bangladesh in Asia have all established 5G partnerships with Huawei. Later, at the 2022 Mobile World Congress, Huawei's 5G received widespread attention and received 5G cooperation from Brazil and Turkey.
In Brazil, Huawei and Brazilian operator TIM signed the "5G City Joint Innovation Cooperation Memorandum" to build a local smart city based on Huawei's 5G technology. To this end, Brazil also made it clear that it is very beneficial to get Huawei's 5G technology, which will not only solve the problem of high cost, but also accelerate the commercial time of 5G and help the development of the digital economy.
It is worth mentioning that the cooperation between Huawei and TIM in the field of communications is not the first time. As early as the 2G era, TIM adopted Huawei's equipment, and until the 4G era, the close cooperation between the two sides continued. Therefore, the achievement of this 5G cooperation is taken for granted. Foreign media said that as Ren Zhengfei said, Huawei's cold winter has passed, and spring is coming.
Brazil was originally a target for the United States, which even wanted to provide funds to Brazil, hoping that Brazil would choose Ericsson or Nokia equipment. However, the result surprised the United States, Brazil not only agreed to Huawei's participation in the construction of local smart cities, but also made it clear that it would establish a 5G partnership with Huawei.
In Turkey, Turkish telecom company Türk Telekom and Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding on a 5G agreement to jointly develop 5G technologies and deepen 5G deployment. Turkey's cooperation is also very important, as a country across the Eurasian continent, once Huawei achieves 5G construction achievements in Turkey, it is easy to influence neighboring countries and let them know the benefits of choosing Huawei 5G.
2. Free of venue rent, reduce pressure for merchants
According to the news on March 14, Huawei Voice Community announced an important decision to waive venue rent from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. Not only that, but the rent already collected will be refunded at the end of March and the venue rent will be halved from April 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. The point is that this decision was personally issued by Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei.
Huawei itself is in a difficult period, and now the rent halving will inevitably cause huge losses. In fact, Huawei is not obliged to do this, but Ren Zhengfei resolutely did it. The most fundamental purpose is the business pressure of merchants during the epidemic and encourage merchants to operate with peace of mind. In this particularly difficult period, Huawei's move can be said to have saved many small and medium-sized businesses from bankruptcy.
In the face of this decision, foreign media have also commented, "Ren Zhengfei is indeed not ordinary, in the case of low operating income, he will also take care of the operating conditions of partners, and is a real entrepreneur."
"Difficulties are like springs, you are weak and it is strong", Huawei's dilemma began with the shortage of chip technology, but Huawei's 5G technology supported itself through one hurdle after another. Today, Russia, Zambia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Turkey and other countries have become Huawei's 5G partners, and more countries will definitely choose Huawei 5G in the future. In the face of the shortage of chips, Huawei's action is to increase research and development.
Huawei has launched its own automotive chips and screen driver chips. In addition, Huawei has also made breakthroughs in advanced process chips and chip architecture, and the Kirin 9000L chip is the best proof. After all, the chip is packaged and tested domestically. In order to make a breakthrough in the chip field as soon as possible, Ren Zhengfei also decided to spend 20% of the annual income to make every effort to carry out research and development.
Ren Zhengfei said, "Huawei allows HiSilicon to continue to climb Mount Everest, and hundreds of thousands of other Huawei people will graze and plant potatoes under the mountain, and send a steady stream of supplies to the HiSilicon team climbing the mountain."
