According to the statistics compiled by the editors of the car purchase network, the wholesale sales of the joint venture compact SUV market in February 2022 were 150,100 units, an increase of 35,400 units compared with the same period last year, an increase of 30.9% year-on-year; compared with January, the sales volume decreased by 52,300 units, down 25.8% month-on-month.
In February, the joint venture compact SUVs that sold more than 10,000 units were all from Japanese brands. Nissan Qashqai remained a hot seller, ranking second with sales of 15,615 units, up 98.0% year-on-year. Unfortunately, its "big brother" Nissan X-Trail's wholesale sales in February were as low as 903 vehicles, and the cumulative sales from January to February this year were only 2,087 vehicles. In fact, since the new generation of X-Trail decided to use the three-cylinder engine, it has basically doomed the fate of the new X-Trail. Although the Honor Edition has since been launched on the basis of the previous generation of models, it has not been able to re-attract the attention of consumers.
Toyota RAV4 ranked third, with sales of 14,502 units in February, up 64.4% year-on-year. Its sister model, the Veranda, sold poorly in February, at just 5,863 units, essentially unchanged from the same period last year and 11,000 fewer units than in January.
Jetta VS5 sales were relatively stable, with 7,653 units in February. The Jetta VS5 is an entry-level compact SUV with a very good price/performance ratio, with a starting price of more than 80,000, which is basically the cheapest model in the same level of joint venture SUVs.
Sales of two of Toyota's new entry-level compact SUVs grew steadily, including 5,515 Corolla relies and 3,829 Fenglanders.
In terms of Volkswagen brands, Volkswagen Tange sold 5161 vehicles, ranking tenth, an increase of 26.5% year-on-year; Tuyue sold 5095 vehicles, ranking eleventh, down 29.1% year-on-year.
In terms of luxury brands, bmw X1 is still the most popular model, with sales of 6325 units in February, an increase of 16.9% year-on-year; Audi Q3 sales of 5365 units, ranking ninth, an increase of 45.4%; Mercedes-Benz GLB sales of 4217 units, ranking twelfth, down slightly by 1.9% year-on-year.
