Inspired by an interview with Academician Zhong Nanshan in the early days of the fight against COVID-19, this oil painting has been exhibited in several domestic art exhibitions in the past two years and has been highly acclaimed, after it has been collected by the National Art Museum of China. At the end of last year, the National Museum of China invited Feng Shaoxie to create a work of the same title again.

Feng Shaoxi, who once again painted the same theme work, had a lot of feelings, coupled with the recent instability of the domestic epidemic, in an interview with reporters, he said that he hoped to pay tribute to the medical staff represented by Academician Zhong Nanshan with this oil painting, and thank them for their fearless dedication in fighting the epidemic.

Born in 1964 in Puning, Guangdong Province, Feng Shaoxie is a national first-class artist who has held solo exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China, the National Gallery of Thailand, the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA. This oil painting "Member of the Communist Party of China - Zhong Nanshan" has been recognized by the industry since it was launched, and the same theme work has been collected by two well-known exhibition halls in China.

Li Jinkun, vice chairman of the China Artists Association, said that Feng Shaoxie vividly showed the image of a hero who stepped forward in times of crisis with realism, and the tears flowing from the characters' resolute eyes further deepened the theme, making the characters have more power to directly hit the soul of the audience in their emotional interpretation.

Kong Wei, president of the Shandong Academy of Painting, said that in the depiction of this portrait, the gray hair on the forehead, the eye sockets full of tears, the anxious and resolute eyes, and the neck with the mark of vicissitudes are used to deeply portray the great love of Academician Zhong who fought hard and was loyal to the country and the people.

Zhong Nanshan, the protagonist of this oil painting, paid attention to this work very early. Earlier, he said in an interview with the media that this work painted him more haggard, but it truthfully reflected the situation at that time, and he was very grateful to Dean Feng for leaving a very memorable work for him.
