On the evening of March 17, AMD released the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.3.1 software update, bringing RSR super-resolution technology to players. Now, amD China's official website introduces the technology.
AMD says Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) is a driver-provided optimization upgrade technology that uses the same algorithm as AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). Gamers can take full advantage of the power of Radeon Super Resolution for better performance in compatible games.
Radeon Super Resolution uses FSR technology and is ideal for a wide range of games that don't support FSR. Gamers can enable RSR for higher performance and fluency.
Players can enable the RSR feature in AMD Software to reduce the game resolution to the desired input level, and RSR will automatically upgrade the display optimization to the original resolution.
In terms of actual effects, AMD has demonstrated five games such as Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, reducing the resolution from 4K to 1080P and then using RSR to 4K, with a frame rate of up to 3 times the original.
AMD says the RSR feature supports Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, while graphics cards support AMD Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards and later.
