Easy Car News Volkswagen recalled Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models overseas (corresponding to domestic Volkswagen Tuon and Tuon X), involving more than 220,000 models.
The information shows that the airbags on the side of the vehicle open later than designed, thus posing a safety risk. The underlying problem with this in the report is that the airbag harness has shifted, which can cause harness damage and connection interruption. Affected vehicles may be alerted in the gauges and, in extreme cases, automatic window opening, low-speed braking and door sensor failures.
The specific recall covers models produced from October 4, 2019 to February 10, 2022, models produced from August 1, 2019 to March 6, 2020, and models produced from September 25, 2019 to February 10, 2022; the Volkswagen brand will inspect and replace the necessary parts for this recall free of charge.
