If they surrender to the enemy, the Russian side said that international mercenaries are not protected by the Geneva Conventions and do not enjoy the treatment of prisoners of war, which means that surrendering to the enemy is also uncertain. Running seems to be the most reliable, as long as you break through the control of the Ukrainian military police, escape the Russian bombardment, prove to the Polish border guards without a passport that you are a foreigner, and be allowed to enter, even if the escape is successful.
