In addition to the power battery upgrade, the Recharge T8 AWD plug-in hybrid engine also provides a more powerful rear motor with a maximum output of up to 107 kW, which also means that the combined maximum power of the 2.0T engine + electric motor can reach 339 kW and the peak torque is 708 N·m.
At the same time, Volvo officials also said that the rear motor has better all-wheel drive capability, and also provides a better form texture when driving at low speeds, when pulling, or when driving on wet and slippery roads that need to provide additional traction and stability. In addition, Volvo has optimized the T8's turbocharging system and offered higher fuel economy and performance output, while the XC60 and XC90 models will also offer a "single pedal" driving mode.
