Reading this simple and strange picture, I can't help but remember the scene in Shen Congwen's famous work "Border City".
The novel depicts a small city surrounded by mountains and rivers at the junction of Sichuan and Hunan, which is far away from the hustle and bustle, quiet and peaceful, and is very similar to the mood of "The River Swinging". If nan wuqiang Buddha's Chinese painting "Xiejiang Rocking" is compared to a lyric poem with abstract meaning, then the novel "Border City" is a pastoral genre painting. From the perspective of aesthetic art, Shen Congwen's specific depiction of natural folk customs and human beauty can indeed be used as a reference for appreciating the Chinese painting "Slanting River Rocking".
In terms of character treatment, the Chinese painting "Oblique River Rocking" and the novel "Border City" are also quite similar: both place the vivid character image between the mountains and rivers, create a harmonious coexistence style between customs and nature, and show the pure and unworldly natural attributes of the characters in the beautiful and beautiful scenery.
