In 2020, Samsung's market share in small and medium-sized OLED panels reached 73.1%, while the share of LG Display and BOE was 12.3% and 8.7% respectively in the same period. However, in 2021, the shipment volume and shipment share of domestic OLED panels have ushered in growth, and the global shipment share has climbed to 20.2%, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year. The share of OLED panel shipments in South Korea is close to 80%, based on the main force in the industry, but the domestic screen is also getting better and better.

According to data from Qunzhi Consulting, in 2021, BOE's AMOLED smartphone panel shipments will be about 0.6 billion pieces, an increase of 67.2%, ranking second in the world and ranking first in China. At the same time, BOE has also become the first AMOLED panel manufacturer in China to enter Apple's iPhone supply chain, and although it has experienced the impact of Huawei's modified orders, its shipments have maintained a rapid growth rate.

BoE's shipments reached 332.5 million pieces, accounting for 34.5%, ranking first in the world. Especially with Samsung and LG Display gradually withdrawing from the LCD market, BOE's share is expected to continue to increase.

Samsung originally planned to stop producing large-size LCD panels at the end of this year, but due to the impact of the decline in panel prices, Samsung advanced the suspension period to June and listed BOE as the main supplier of LCD panels. BOE and domestic panel manufacturers have made the price of LCD very low, Samsung, LG and other self-production costs may be more expensive than direct purchase, no wonder Samsung to quickly stop production LCD panels.

Domestic display panels are really getting stronger and stronger, the LCD market is the first in the world, and the OLED market is far from the gap with South Korea, but it is also squeezed into the second rank of the world. At the same time, it is reported that BOE is developing a new type of pixel arrangement screen similar to RGB, which is more refined than the Samsung drill row. Once this new type of screen is successfully developed, BOE's market share may be further increased, shortening the gap with Samsung.
