In the full year of 2021, the BMW Group delivered a total of 2,521,514 vehicles (including BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce) worldwide, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year; of which new energy vehicles accounted for 13% of the total, reaching 328,314 units. Total Group revenue reached 111,239 million euros (approximately RMB774.47 billion), an increase of 12.4% year-on-year.

The Group's net profit reached a new high of EUR 12,463 million (approximately RMB86.77 billion), an increase of 223.1% year-on-year. The BMW Group sold nearly 100,000 more vehicles than the Mercedes-Benz Group (2,427,686 units, including passenger cars and commercial vehicles) in 2021, and was the world's first premium car manufacturer for 18 consecutive years. In addition, BMW Brilliance also surpassed Mercedes-Benz and Audi in the Chinese market in 2021, ranking first in the sales list of luxury brands, with sales of 846,000 vehicles in China.

In 2021, BMW invested 6.299 billion euros (about 43.85 billion yuan) in research and development, an increase of 10.7% over 2020.
