After a series of teasers, Volkswagen officially released a new small facelift Virtus in India, which will be launched in more than 25 countries in addition to India. The new car gets trendy styling updates and introduces more new technologies, while sharing the MQB A0-IN platform with Skoda Slavia.

In the exterior section, due to the redesign of the front, the small make-up Virtus no longer resemble Polo's sedan version. The front bumper is more pronounced and features more sporty air intakes – embellished with black and chrome elements. The tank shroud incorporates the strip design of the LED headlamp. The rear of the car has new LED tail lights, and a rear bumper with updated shape, and is equipped with decorations such as exhaust pipes and diverters, but it is not practically functional.

With the exception of the new rim, the small iteration of the Virtus has hardly changed on the side of the car and still has lines that closely resemble the Skoda Slavia. In terms of size, the minor iteration of Virtus is sized 4,561×1,752×1,507mm, and has a wheelbase of 2,651mm, which is not only slightly more than 79mm before the redesign, but also longer and taller than the Skoda Slavia.

Minor redesign Virtus Changes to the interior like most minor iterations of the Volkswagen series, in addition to the new multi-functional steering wheel, also introduced including 8-inch digital instrumentation, 10-inch central touch entertainment system, air conditioning control panel also changed to touch. At the same time, it also introduced technical safety equipment such as front seat ventilation, wireless charging board, sunroof, 8-speaker sound system, reversing camera and 6 airbags.

Volkswagen offers 2 power options for the minor makeover Virtus: a 1.0 TSI with a 3-cylinder inline and a 1.5 TSI Evo engine with a 4-cylinder inline. The 1.0 TSI engine delivers up to 115 horsepower, while the 1.5 TSI has a maximum horsepower of 150 horsepower. In addition to the standard 6-speed manual, the 1.0 TSI can choose from a 6-speed automatic, while the 1.5 TSI can choose from a 7-speed DSG.

The minor makeover Virtus will be launched in India in May to replace Vento, which has not yet entered the MQB generation. Other markets such as South American countries will be available in the near future. Virtus is already available for pre-order in India, and in addition to the Skoda Slavia, local competitors include Honda City, Hyundai Verna and other cars.
