BMW has launched recalls for six of the brand's models, including 900,000 units in the United States and 100,000 units in Canada and South Korea. The reason for this recall is the possibility of an electrical short circuit in the crankcase forced ventilation (PCV) valve heater, which could overheat and cause a fire under the hood. Models covered are 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, X3, X5 and Z4.
After investigation, the problem of overheating of the PCV valve heater due to production problems has been damaged in the factory, and if the owner sees the engine smoke or asks about the smell of plastic burning, he should stop driving immediately.
BMW also recalled about 1.4 million vehicle models in 2017 for similar problems, and the BMW manufacturer also said that this recall belongs to another batch of vehicles with production dates, which is the third recall since 2017.
