In a word, a lifetime - the new brigade imprint of wang Jianmin, an old regimental member

"'Come with a heart, without half a blade of grass.'" This sentence will be remembered in my heart for a lifetime! On September 26, at the foot of Wuxi Huishan Mountain, Wang Jianmin, a 92-year-old Zhouqiao expert who was a member of the Xin'an Tour Group, excitedly slapped his chest with his right hand when he talked about the branding of the new brigade on his body.

At the beginning of the construction of Xin'an Primary School, the first principal, Tao Xingzhi, encouraged teachers and students with "holding a heart and not taking half a blade of grass", expressing the noble spirit of selfless dedication. Later, the new brigade that came out of Xin'an Primary School interpreted this famous saying with practical actions. As a member of the new brigade, Wang Jianmin marched south to fight in the north, studied assiduously, adhered to scientific research, and made contributions to the cause of the party and the people.

A young revolutionary general, he grew up under the care of the party

Wang Jianmin's hometown is in Shanggang, Yanfu District, Northern Jiangsu Province, an old revolutionary area. "Finding our Communist Party is a blessing in my life." Wang Jianmin said that in October 1945, after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he joined the revolution at the age of 16 and soon became a young officer of the Yandong County Party Committee.

In February of the following year, the new brigade went to Yandong to recruit members and organize and recommend Wang Jianmin to join the newly established new brigade in northern Jiangsu. Wang Jianmin left his hometown and walked from Yandong to Huaiyin, where the Northern Jiangsu Branch was located.

After arriving at the Northern Jiangsu Branch Regiment, Wang Jianmin quickly followed the regiment to Funing to participate in the land reform movement, and the main work was to organize children's groups, teach singing, shout slogans, fight landlords, spread revolutionary ideas to children, and sow the seeds of loving the party and the country. In northern Jiangsu, the new brigade organized 180,000 children.

The new brigade received Mao Zedong's cordial care and high praise. "I sent you a letter, and Chairman Mao replied to you." One day at the end of May 1946, the secretary of the then Central China Branch, Deng Zihui, came to the Northern Jiangsu Branch. Wang Jianmin, who happened to be in the sub-regiment, and several other members of the regiment heard this and happily rushed forward to take a look. "Comrades of xin'an tour group, I am extremely grateful for receiving the letter! I wish you all to work hard, continue to move forward, and strive for the victory of democratic China. Everyone opened the letter and read it aloud. To this day, Wang Jianmin still remembers the contents of the letter and keeps a photo of the letter.

Mao Zedong's reply greatly encouraged all the members of the league, and also made Wang Jianmin more determined to listen to the party and follow the party. This year, 17-year-old Wang Jianmin joined the party with honor.

Behind the scenes, the heroes of the Southern Expedition and the Northern War have made many achievements

Wang Jianmin's new brigade trail lasted less than a year, stopping when the Kuomintang attacked the Liberated Areas.

In November 1946, Wang Jianmin responded to the call of his superiors, joined the army, and went to the 6th Division, 16th Brigade, 48th Brigade, 48th Battalion, 8th Company of the Central China Field Army as a cultural instructor. Soon, he transferred to East China Military and Political University to study military affairs. After graduating in August 1947, he was assigned to the Guard Corps of the Special Forces Column of the East China Field Army as a company of cultural instructors, and since then he has "put on the hat of an sapper". In the following three years, he participated in the Battle of Jinan, the Battle of Huaihai, the Battle of Crossing the River, and the Battle of Shanghai.

At the end of 1950, when the Corps of Engineers was building a highway connecting Fujian and Gansu provinces, it received an order to go north to resist the United States and aid Korea. After recuperating in Shenyang, Wang Jianmin and his troops crossed the frozen Yalu River on foot into the Korean battlefield in early 1951 to build roads and bridges and fortifications for the combat troops. "Blown up and repaired, repaired and blown up." Wang Jianmin recalled that the sappers basically had to work for more than ten hours a day, using rudimentary tools such as shovels, pickaxes, axes, and hammers. When he first entered the DPRK, the supply of materials was difficult, so Wang Jianmin and his comrades-in-arms caught frogs and dug wild vegetables to eat. "It is inevitable to suffer hardships, and no matter how tired you are, you will not say anything, and you have handed yourself over to the Communist Party and the state, and what else can you say?" In Wang Jianmin's heart, defending his family and defending the country is his unshirkable mission.

"The movie 'King Kong Chuan' was adapted from the real incident of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea." Opening a yellowed manuscript, Wang Jianmin pointed to an article entitled "Political Work of Building Bridges Under Enemy Fire" and said that in 1953, he was an assistant to the organization of the first battalion of the Political Department of the 10th Regiment of Engineers of the Volunteer Army, and carried out political work in The Kongo River. "Three companies of the Engineer Corps have built three bridges, four underwater roads, and two bridges on the Kongo River, prepared two crossings, and are now erecting a 100-meter-long and five-meter-high flood control high-water level bridge..." He read the manuscript, and his thoughts seemed to return to the war-torn years. He said that in order to block this material transportation line of the volunteer army, the enemy's aircraft and artillery carried out a crazy attack. It was precisely the fruitful political work and outstanding political workers that the volunteer sappers completed the arduous task of building bridges under the rain of bullets. Because of his remarkable achievements in political work on the Korean battlefield, Wang Jianmin was awarded the third class meritorious service.

Zhouqiao experts, dare to teach the graben to change the way

The shining medal records the unusual road that Wang Jianmin has taken.

In June 1954, Wang Jianmin, who had recently returned from Korea, received an order to study in the Soviet Union. Due to the tight time, Wang Jianmin did not even learn the Russian alphabet well and entered the classroom of the Gubyshev Military Engineering College in the Soviet Union. "Dumb and deaf for a month and a half." This is Wang Jianmin's summary of studying in the Soviet Union for a month and a half.

"The party and the state have given me such a good opportunity, spent so much money, I don't study hard, how can I serve the motherland?" Remembering the expectations of the motherland and the people, Wang Jianmin carried forward the spirit of being able to endure hardships and fight, and studied hard. Kung Fu pays off. In 1960, he graduated with a perfect score of 5 points and was awarded the Academy's Gold Medal.

After returning to China, Wang Jianmin participated in the development of the atomic bomb. As Sino-Soviet relations deteriorated, Wang Jianmin, who had studied in the Soviet Union, was transferred to the Engineering Corps Technical equipment research institute as director of the River Crossing Bridge Research Office according to the requirements of the work of secrecy in nuclear tests. In the face of the boat and bridge equipment that was behind the times, he was determined to shoulder the mission. No matter how disturbed the outside world is, it cannot stop Wang Jianmin from concentrating on the pace of Zhouqiao technology. He also used "holding a heart, not taking half a blade of grass to go" with colleagues to encourage and silently dedicate themselves to the country together. For more than 20 years, he and his colleagues have been involved in the development of military boat and bridge equipment, turning the vast river surface into a mobile road. In 1990, Wang Jianmin participated in the publication of the "Zhouqiao Historical Materials" edited by Wang Jianmin before leaving, which provided the necessary reference and reference for the development of the Zhouqiao cause after this.

On a copy of the "Zhouqiao Historical Materials" presented to the Xin'an Tour Group Historical Memorial Hall, Wang Jianmin gladly wrote an inscription, hoping that the museum would further tell the story of the new tour and inherit the red gene. "'To come with a heart and not to take half a blade of grass' is to serve the people. That's what I did, and I have to do. Wang Jianmin encouraged the children to learn from the new brigade of knowledge and action, study hard, increase their skills, and strive to become qualified socialist builders and successors.
