According to the data released by CPCA, Tesla China produced 56,515 vehicles in February, of which 33,315 were exported abroad and 23,200 were delivered to domestic customers. Tesla's performance in China has put the company among the first echelons of Chinese automakers, and this month, five automakers, including BYD, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Geely, and Chery, also released their production wholesale figures, among which BYD surpassed Tesla China's production with a wholesale production volume of 87,473 units (in February 2022, SAIC-GM-Wuling produced 26,046 units, Geely 14,285 units, and Chery Automobile sold 10,271 vehicles).
Tesla China is currently playing the role of Tesla's main car export center (the figure above shows the proportion of exports and domestic sales), which means that the Shanghai factory will usually only supply the domestic market in the second half of the year (or the second half of each quarter), but this has also caused some car users to wait too long, especially now that Tesla's demand in China is still very large, and some vehicles like the basic Model 3 have now listed that the estimated delivery time is 16 to 20 The date of the week, which is 4-5 months, means that users who book cars today will not receive their orders until June at the earliest.
Therefore, in addition to Tesla's expansion of the production line of the Shanghai factory, the audit of its new factories abroad has also been accelerating, and when the Berlin factory and the Texas factory can produce vehicles, the domestic users may pick up the car much faster.
