Volkswagen announced that it has passed a resolution approving the construction of a new plant that will build the upcoming all-electric Trinity. The car is Volkswagen's latest high-tech electric flagship model and will focus on the development of cars, hatchbacks and coupes. According to reports, Volkswagen's new plant will be built near the Wolfsburg plant. This is the largest investment in the history of Volkswagen headquarters. Volkswagen said the total investment is about 2 billion euros, or about 13.8 billion yuan, and the plant plans to start construction in 2023 and the first models will roll off the production line in 2026.
Volkswagen GROUP CEO Herbert Diess said Trinity will offer L4 assisted driving and a range of more than 700 kilometers. Volkswagen will use the new platform to create a "completely new approach to production" that will try to demonstrate the cost-effective production of electric vehicles in different regions.
