These customs have existed since about the Time of the Tang Dynasty. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, this day became a spring ploughing festival, and the emperor and the hundred officials had to symbolically go to the farmland to work.

Third, during the Tang Dynasty, there was a legend. After Wu Zetian became emperor, the Jade Emperor was furious, and in order to punish her, he did not let the Dragon King rain on the people. Later, the Dragon King couldn't bear to see the tragic situation in the human world, so he secretly rained.
When the Jade Emperor found out, he was very angry, expelled the Dragon King from the Heavenly Court and pressed it under a mountain, and wrote: "The Dragon King has violated the rules of heaven when he rains, and when he suffers a thousand sins in the world, he wants to re-ascend to the Lingxiao Pavilion unless the golden beans are in bloom." ”
In order to save the Dragon King, people looked everywhere for "golden beans to blossom". Later, a person suddenly found that corn is like golden beans, and corn popcorns are like "golden beans blossoming".
As a result, thousands of households make popcorn. The Jade Emperor saw that golden beans were blooming everywhere in the human world, so he fulfilled his promise and recalled the Dragon King to the Heavenly Court.
It happens that this day is the second day of the first month of February, and people call this day the dragon head, and leave behind the custom of popcorn on the second of February.
