What is Sequential Booster Immunization?

Sequential enhanced immunization refers to a strategy of strengthening immunization using vaccines with different technical routes from basic immunization, according to certain time intervals and doses, mainly to further improve the preventive effect of vaccines and reduce the risk of adverse reactions.

Why sequential immunization?

For conventional, easy-to-deal viruses or diseases, vaccines with a single technical route are generally used. However, for a highly variable and difficult virus like the new crown virus, a sequential immunization method can be used for two main purposes:

First, different vaccines can complement each other's advantages;

Second, the physique of different people is different, and a certain type of single technical route vaccine has more side effects on some people, and it is not suitable for multiple vaccinations. Using different technical routes of vaccination, side effects can be avoided.

What is the difference between "sequential booster" and "homologous booster"?

Homologous booster immunization (booster injection) is the use of vaccines that have the same technical route as basic immunization for booster immunization. Target populations over the age of 18 who have been vaccinated with the new coronavirus inactivated vaccine and adenovirus vector vaccine for 6 months through the basic immunization process can be upgraded with a dose of homologous enhancement, that is, strengthened with the original vaccine.

Sequential boosting of immunization is the selection of vaccines with different technical routes from the original full vaccination, such as recombinant protein vaccines or adenovirus vector vaccines.

Homologous booster immunity and sequential booster immunity can greatly increase the neutralizing antibody level of the recipient, further improve the immune effect, and have a better safety profile.

Please note: At this stage, sequential booster immunization and homologous booster immunization cannot be received at the same time.

Which populations can be targeted for sequential booster immunization?

There are four important conditions for the sequential enhancement of immunization with the new crown virus vaccine:

First, people over the age of 18.

Second, 2 doses of inactivated vaccination have been completed, and the new coronavirus inactivated vaccine of Sinopharm Zhongsheng Beijing Company, Beijing Kexing Company and Sinopharm Zhongsheng Wuhan Company has been vaccinated.

Third, 2 doses of inactivated vaccination are completed throughout the process, and the interval between vaccinations cannot be less than 6 months.

Fourth, the recipients were not immunized intensively, i.e., they were not given a third dose.

What do I need to pay attention to in order to strengthen immunization?
