What is sequential immunity?
Sequential immunization is an immunization strategy adopted by vaccines of different technical routes according to certain vaccination intervals and doses, in order to further improve the preventive effect and consider safety.
Why sequential immunization?
Generally for conventional viruses or diseases that are easy to deal with, a single vaccine is enough, but for some highly variable and difficult to deal with viruses, it is often a sequential immunization method.
Shao Yiming, chief expert of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the advantages of sequential immunization are twofold: first, different vaccines can complement each other's advantages; second, different people's physiques are different, and there may be more side effects on a certain vaccine, which is not suitable for multiple vaccinations.
Shao Yiming stressed that the approved sequential vaccines have confirmed the safety in large quantities of use, and some clinical studies carried out in China have not found more side effects of heterologous immunity.
Which populations can be administered sequentially for booster immunization?
(1) People over 18 years old;
(2) It is the completion of 2 doses of inactivated vaccination, and these 2 doses are the inactivated vaccine of the new crown virus of Sinopharm Zhongsheng Beijing Company, Beijing Kexing Company, and Sinopharm Zhongsheng Wuhan Company;
(3) It is a full completion of 2 doses of vaccination, and the interval between sequential enhancement immunizations cannot be less than 6 months;
(4) There is no booster immunization, that is, the 3rd injection is not given.
Is the sequential vaccination the "fourth shot" of the new crown?
No. Sequential booster immunization is not the fourth shot, it is just a new way to play the NEW CROWN reinforcing needle.
Previously, the mainland's new crown pneumonia vaccine enhancement was homologous strengthening, that is, only the same kind of vaccine that had been given before could be selected, while the sequential enhanced immunization was heterologous vaccination, that is, other production routes could be selected. To put it simply, the two-shot inactivated vaccine that was previously given, the booster injection is still inactivated, belongs to the homologous strengthening; if the two-shot inactivated vaccine that was previously given, the reinforced injection of the adenovirus vector new crown vaccine or the recombinant protein vaccine, belongs to the sequential strengthening.
